Renowned Chinese-American artist Hou Beiren (侯北人) passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at the age of 109. On June 29, his family, the Asian American Senior Association of California (ASACA), and Silicon Valley Asian Art Center & Narx Gallery (SVAAC) hosted a heartfelt memorial celebration titled “A Celebration of Lives: Hou Beiren & Zhang Yunqin”, honoring the remarkable lives and enduring legacy of Master Hou and his beloved wife.
