Wedding days are busy as everyone is so eager & excited to celebrate the newlyweds amidst all the events you want to share with your loved ones on this special day. Remember to also take some time to celebrate you two as well.

✨ Be sure to carve out enough time for a solid couple’s photo session at some point in the day or add a golden hour session to switch up the scenery. This allows some time for you two to be pulled away and to be present with each other.

✨ Take some time to take in the day together either before and/or after the ceremony. Even if it’s just a few minutes to take it all in, take it in together.

✨ There will be a lot going on but remember to stay together throughout the day— especially during the reception to experience the day alongside each other.

You and your partner are getting married and it is your wedding day— a huge milestone in your lives.

VENUES, LOCATIONS, TRAVEL TIME

When choosing locations to get ready at, get married at, and to party at, there are a few details to keep in mind:

1. Can this location serve multiple purpose in being a beautiful backdrop for both getting ready, first look, wedding party photo session OR first look, ceremony, wedding party photo session? The best case scenario is having one venue for it all: from getting ready all the way through to the reception— if at all possible— which allows you to maximize on time.

2. Travel time for photo and video vendors from each location and how that could tap into the actual hours of service provided. I always say that the less we travel the more you get to maximize on services.

3. How far is each location from each other? What does the parking situation look like? How crowded will this location be and will this affect the quality of the photos?

4. Photo, video, and other vendors have a lot of equipment to pack up and load in and out of their vehicles. This takes time to get situated and I usually allow creatives some cushion to make sure lighting and equipment settings are optimized before we begin.

5. Don’t overthink and stress about what setting your photos are captured in. We are surrounded by so much beauty in the world which makes it easy to find a nice clean backdrop to be shot in. At the end of it all, the most important elements of the shot are the people in them and how their love exudes and illuminates the space.

3 months to plan the best. party. ever?! Challenge accepted.

We had a venue, a date, and a few ideas.

What went into planning this wedding in a short amount of time?

• Quickly aligning with the couple’s vision to start the sourcing and designing process

• Thinking through all the logistics required to build an event from the ground up bringing in all elements: rentals, decor, and staff to service the event

• Decisions made quickly so we can pivot if needed or move onto the item on the list. If it’s not an “ABSOLUTELY YES” when it comes to wedding decisions, then we keep going until we get to the “yes”

• A lot of communication between vendors, the couple, and myself in all forms including texts, emails, phone calls, Zoom meetings, FaceTime meetings, etc.

• Triple checking to make sure everything is squared away in the midst of the fast moving decisions made

• A little bit of doing due diligence, perseverance, and hyper-focus on the end goal

Once the momentum got rolling, we kept it going all the way to the finish line.

Family and “friends who become family” are all you need on wedding day. This wedding party was so much fun and the families were so kind exuding in happiness as they celebrate these high school sweethearts.
