What a little B E A N 🫘 💙

One of my favorite things to do for an in-home newborn session is to find things that are special to the parents to incorporate into the photos.

More often than not we end up with a little monochrome gem like this that totally surprises them. They’ll say something like “Oh, I LOVE that blue!” Well it’s your adorable couch with your adorable baby, what’s not to LOVE?!

It doesn’t always have to be so complicated as a baby on a swing in a field of a flowers. That’s what LIFESTYLE photography is really all about 🏡

Every now and then I’ll start my editing process for a gallery. And sometimes, there’s a certain photo that will cause me to pause and catch my breath. It’ll bring a tear to my eye, and I immediately know it’ll be one for the books.

Sometimes it’s dramatic, and sometimes it’s as a simple as a first-time Mom, sitting in a chair, holding her baby.

It’s the reason I ever started my photography in the first place. I see myself in this mother. I see myself in this baby. I remember that these are the moments we should never forget. For me to make these into a permanent piece of art for my clients…it’s an honor.

These shots truly make me feel like an artist✨

As a photographer that is always my goal. Even in the most common shoots, I want art. Art is something that expresses a strong emotion or story to its audience. It’s so easy to get stuck in a repetitive, basic, and uncreative habit. To create images no different than something pulled up on Pinterest.

So my goal as a photographer is to get that portrait you can put on the Christmas card for family, but to also get you that piece of ART to hang on your wall at home. To bring in elements that get me excited, and to make something unexpected. A piece of ART, just for you and me. 💕
