OKAY,,, for LOTS of REASONS… Special Occasion Rentables has “gone out of business”… I can tell you that there is definitely a market here in the Sandusky, Ohio area , but I’m mature and I do not have the electronic skills that one needs to perform well on a website and could not find any professional or novice to hire so after practically bleeding out in rental fees that was housing purchased and picked up sensational furniture and everything else one would need for a special occasion and storing them in three storage units and paying over $400 a month… when I could find no web help at all I had to stop the bleeding and go out of business.
If there is anyone out there that would like to go into the business because absolutely there is a need for it in the Sandusky area, I would be more than happy to help you get on your feet and tell you where to go to get your best furniture and what I had was Fantastic and I was really looking forward to opening, but it just didn’t happen for me. The staff I had at the beginning when I first opened the business weren’t 16/17… they were getting married, finishing their degrees, having a life… and didn’t have 10-12 hours on a Saturday to give to me anymore… to continue I would have had to hire help to work part time and my heart was NOT into it.
The first time around… the beginning of the third year, I was booked every weekend. But I had to have it since of surgery on my knee after research. I saw that it would be a full two years before I was back to 100% so that time I sold my Inventory. And I made lots of money. I was just trying to get the units empty lots of people got huge deals.
“Cool CAT Furniture & MoRe!”  is my only true love now….well… it as a great business…there is a man whom I consider my one and only, as well… and I still have that company (CCF&M!) I enjoy it quite a bit. I’m offering something that I’ve never seen anywhere else— well built vintage furniture that is turned into “today’s beautiful cat furniture that is useful and fits into one’s decor easily”. I enjoy the process of working with wood and all the “MoRe!” cat-related hand made goods. Making beautiful furniture for cats, because cat trees are hideously ugly and should be illegal and NOBODY wants to look at cat p**p all day… those are reasons why I started. I’ve had an offer from someone who wanted to INVEST in the company BUT I don’t want a big factory setting… nope… just a workroom, perhaps the sized of a double garage with people who go to branch colleges hired and taught life long skills, who work a few hours a day, and sign the piece they’re working on when they’re finished.. Keep it small and prices will rise as they’ll be literally works of art. Seriously… they already are. Really.
