GREEN, GREEN, GREEN, And, The CATTLE ARE FAT & HAPPY!
These are the days we have waited for for months- Glorious spring days w/ green grass & Life is @ Peace. It was a rough last few months, w/ no rain, & harsh winds drying things out worse. But, we struggled through, irrigated, fed, & planted new flowers everywhere to help things really feel like Spring.
Now, the Good Lord blessed us with 5" of amazing rain, and the world seems to have re-awaked. Thank you, Lord, for this most essential gift of rain. Come see us soon, & enjoy the glories of South Texas in the spring! www.knolle.com

SPRING TURKEY HUNTING --LOOKING FOR A LAST MINUTE SOUTH TEXAS HUNT? We've got a couple of spots open and ready for a chance to get that RIO GRANDE TURKEY you've been wanting,
I can't believe it's closing soon! We've got plenty of nice gobblers, & these guys are beginning to start coming back out into the open where hunters should be able to get some good shots @ numerous nice long-beards.
We've now had some good rains, but, w/ the previously very dry year, breeding season was a bit later than usual, w/ things now having settled down, and the rest of the season looks really good!
Known for our fantastic hunts, we manage the wildlife & hunting areas throughout the year, & limit the number of hunts we do, always staggering hunters ,so, there's little pressure on the birds And, This is one of those years when the late part of the season is really preferable to the first part. In honor of the WHOPPING CRANE FESTIVAL, we want to remember our special friend, who we fondly named "WHOPPER", a lone Whooping Crane who joined up w/ a gang of Sand Hill Cranes and wintered at Knolle Farm in 2017 .. He returned the next year, & seemed perfectly at home here w/ his other crane friends; but, never came back after the 2nd year. We do miss his funny, giant white body in the midst of the seemingly diminutive grey ones; although we were delighted to get to know him and felt privileged
He made quite a stir, w/ cars lining up on the road to catch a glimpse of him, but, he was totally unconcerned about cameras, people or otherwise. -- What a fun blessing and special memory! Safe Travels, Whopper, wherever you are!

-- A couple of nights ago my husband was gone for the night, & I was out enjoying the lovely early tropical S/E breezes, & snapped these photos.. I was not afraid of being outside in the country alone @ night .. Life simply felt Good, & Safe, and At Peace.. I looked back @ them & I understood Why..
