One of my favorite things about wedding photography is finding the photograph where you might not expect one.

Maybe the light isn’t “perfect.”

Maybe the location doesn’t look particularly exciting.

Maybe there’s a parking lot approximately three feet outside the frame. 😂

But after 13+ years of weddings, I’ve learned that beautiful photographs aren’t about constantly having perfect circumstances.

They’re about knowing how to use the light, where to put you, what to look for and when to press the shutter.

Wedding days move FAST.

Experience means you don’t have to worry about whether we’ll find the magic.

After 13 years of photographing Central Coast families, calling these simply “Fall Minis” just didn’t feel right anymore.

Because for so many of you, this has become a tradition.

Another year. Another chapter. Another photograph of your family exactly as they are right now.

This October, I’ll be back in SLO County from October 8–12 with two ways to document it:

✨ Mini Sessions — 20 minutes, 3 images + a selection of my favorite tried-and-true locations.

✨ Full Sessions — 60 minutes, 9 images + your choice of location anywhere in SLO County, along with more time and planning to create something completely your own.

A wedding day in a few seconds could never tell the whole story. 🤍

It can’t show you every conversation happening while you’re getting ready, the nerves right before the ceremony, your parents’ faces when they see you, or just how LOUD your friends get when your favorite song comes on. 😂

But it can bring you right back to it.

Hi, I’m Kasie 👋🏼🤍

It’s been a minute since I’ve properly introduced myself around here, and with some new faces following along lately, it felt like a good time.

I’m the photographer, storyteller, and owner behind SLO Town Studios — and I’ve been photographing weddings and people in love for over 13 years now, which still feels a little wild to say.

I started this business on the Central Coast, and even though life has taken me to Idaho, San Luis Obispo will always be such a huge part of SLO Town. I’m back throughout the year photographing weddings, engagements, and families in the places I’ve loved and photographed for more than a decade; alongside an incredibly talented team that helps me serve even more of our couples.

My approach has always been pretty simple: I want your photos to be beautiful, but more importantly, I want them to feel like you.

I love the big, gorgeous portraits just as much as anyone, but I’m constantly watching for everything happening around them ... your mom tearing up when she thinks no one is looking, your best friend absolutely losing it on the dance floor, the squeeze of a hand during the ceremony, and all those tiny interactions you probably didn't even realize happened.

Because someday, those are the photographs that bring you right back.

Outside of weddings, you'll probably find me somewhere near the water with John and our dog Roadie, fishing, planning our next adventure, finding an excuse to wear something western, or drinking entirely too much caffeine. 😂

And if you've been here for years ... maybe I photographed your engagement, then your wedding, and now I'm photographing your babies! Getting to continue telling your story through all of those chapters is one of my favorite parts of this job.

One of my favorite wedding trends? Couples making their day feel unapologetically theirs 🤍

Gone are the days of every wedding looking the same. The celebrations that people talk about for years are the ones filled with thoughtful, personal touches that reflect the couple behind them.

Maybe it’s beer burros greeting guests with drinks (like these two 🫏🍻), a custom hat bar where everyone leaves with a one-of-a-kind keepsake, live painters capturing the ceremony, champagne walls, roaming musicians, or performers welcoming guests as they arrive.

These details aren’t just fun, they’re conversation starters. They create experiences, bring people together, and give your guests moments they’ll remember long after the dance floor clears.

Your wedding doesn’t have to follow a checklist. It should tell your story.

One of my favorite views at one of my favorite Central Coast wedding venues 🤍

There’s something so special about the way the rolling hills frame this spot at La Lomita Ranch. It feels like a showcase of the rolling hills views of the Central Coast, timeless, peaceful, and effortlessly beautiful. Every time I photograph a wedding here, I’m reminded why it’s such a favorite.

From the stunning ceremony spaces to the golden light that seems to last forever, every corner of this venue photographs beautifully. It’s one of those places that gives couples an incredible experience while also creating the dreamiest backdrop for their memories. A photographers playground.

If you’re planning a Central Coast wedding, La Lomita Ranch deserves a spot at the top of your venue tour list. It’s truly a gem.
