Today’s delivery: Samuel Merritt University.

Roses, delphinium, ornamental kale, and a little bit of everything in between.

The kale might be my favorite part.

A little color for a very important table.

I recently had the pleasure of creating table centerpieces for the California Health Care Foundation’s annual Board of Directors meeting at Epic Steak in San Francisco.

Warm golden roses, zinnias, textural grasses, thistle and touches of orange — designed to feel seasonal, interesting and just a little unexpected. Each centerpiece was made to work beautifully around the table without getting in the way of the conversation.

Thank you to the California Health Care Foundation for having CityBloom be a small part of the day.

A little orchid, a little drama, a lot of color — and somehow it all works.

That’s the fun of flowers. Sometimes the combinations you’d never expect are the ones that make you stop and look twice.

Well… this one wasn’t interested in being subtle.

A little red, a little white, a lot of movement — and just enough attitude to make sure it gets noticed.

Sometimes an arrangement doesn’t need to behave.
I’m perfectly fine with that.

Some arrangements whisper. This one walked in and took over the room.

Dark callas, blowsy roses, delicate stems, strange little textures — all slightly unruly, exactly as intended.

Dan likes flowers best when they have a little personality.

Sometimes more is more.
Tall, wild, textural, and just a little bit unruly — exactly the way I like it.

Cattails, grasses, smoke bush, ornamental kale and a whole cast of characters somehow decided to get along. I just introduced them. 😉
