We're proud to announce that Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose is partnering with San José Mineta International Airport and Nutanix to create The Nest by Nutanix, a new sensory-friendly room designed to support children with autism and other sensory sensitivities during air travel✈️💜

Drawing on nearly 20 years of experience creating exhibits and programs for neurodivergent children and their families, our team is helping design a calming, welcoming space that makes travel more accessible and less overwhelming.

Together with our partners and community advisors, we're helping create a place where more families can experience the joy, connection, and opportunities that travel makes possible.

🌺🤖 Two exciting events, one amazing weekend at Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose!

On Saturday, May 30, travel across the Pacific through music and dance with Ha’a Hula / Te Reva O Te Manu. Experience the beauty and traditions of Hawai‘i, Tahiti, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Sāmoa, and Tonga through vibrant performances and live Hawaiian music.

Then on Sunday, May 31, meet real robots at Robot Demo Day! Hosted by the award-winning Cheesy Chips and Cheesy Bytes robotics teams from Bellarmine College Preparatory, families can see tournament-winning robots in action, drive robots themselves, and even build a small robot to take home. Perfect for future engineers (and BattleBots fans!) 🤖⚙️

We did it! Our beloved rooftop duck officially has a name: Roofus🐥

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Birthday Bash to celebrate this special moment. It was incredible to see so many families come together for the big reveal.

We’re also so grateful to the thousands of children and families who submitted creative name ideas and to everyone who helped choose from the final five. Your imagination and enthusiasm made this campaign truly meaningful.

Be sure to stop by and see Roofus in person - now sporting a summer outfit with sunglasses and a visor - and don’t forget to wave when you’re driving by on Highway 87. Roofus loves seeing your smiling faces!
