Little astronauts (aged 0-4) are invited to use their imaginations to explore the wonders of space, the moon, and beyond! It’s a safe, playful, hands-on adventure made for our youngest explorers. Come play, imagine, and reach for the stars with us!🌠

Meet our Discovery Duck’s new friends! Octavio, an octopus🐙and dragon🐉 alebrije and artist ! This piece of traditional Mexican art was installed this morning as part of our partnership with San Jose Jazz and the Alebrijes en San Jose exhibition in Downtown San Jose. Make sure to wave to the Discovery Duck and Octavio next time you pass by the Purple Museum!

🫧NEW EXHIBIT ALERT!🫧

As many of you have noticed, our popular bubble exhibit first moved outdoors, then it disappeared altogether! That’s because we were hard at work making it bigger and better than ever, and now we’re ready to share it with you!

Our team exhibits and facilities experts worked closely with Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus to bring this permanent outdoor exhibit to life. Pop by on Saturday, June 28 to be captivated by bubbles of all different sizes, shapes, quantities, and colors!

Help us welcome our new Artist-in-Residence, Emma Maile Buckman!🎨

Emma spent her childhood with time divided between many worlds: her home state of California, her father’s island home in Hawai’i, and the imaginative realms of her favorite novels. Immersed in such beautiful landscapes–both fact and fiction–it was no wonder she developed a reverence for the personal and deeply intimate relationship an individual has with place. Her art blends the mediums of literature and paint that mirror the blending of real and imagined worlds of her girlhood.

Stop by the Leroy Neiman Art Studio on weekends to meet Emma and create your very own masterpiece!🖼️

What does your family call our Museum? We’ve heard, “The ducky museum,” “The big purple place,” and our personal favorite, “My favorite place!” No matter what you call us, we are proud to be a part of your family’s story and excited to continue to spark curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning for tomorrow’s visionaries.

Today marks 35 years since our opening day and we have SO much in store for you this month and in the entire coming year! Stay tuned and follow along for exciting announcements, big parties, and special guests.
