A wedding where everything went “right”. Not because things were on time, or perfectly organized- but because it felt like everything fell into place, exactly how the bride and groom wanted it too.

They made sure to get ready together, with just enough time to show bits of love to eachother throughout the process. They walked hand in hand from the hotel to City Hall, excited to be married in minutes. They were greeted with open arms by friends and family that stood with them under cherry blossom trees blooming in the California sunshine. They frolicked and celebrated being married, letting me photograph them organically. They walked from City Hall to the restaurant where they shared a meal, drinks, and laughter. And throughout all of that, no strict do’s or don’ts. Just letting the day happen, and enjoying as it did.

On this Earth Day, I felt it’d be extra fitting to share some of the photographs I took while at ’s workshop focused on Seascapes in Monterey Bay.

I spent last week by the ocean, enjoying and capturing the beauties of nature. I learned new techniques for capturing landscapes which I am looking forward to trying out in my portrait work as well.

The biggest takeaway for me from this workshop was that as a photographer of any kind, it’s extremely important to photograph things out of your usual norm. It’s a huge challenge at first, in the greatest way. I learned that although I’m a great portrait photographer, it’s equally important to be a great landscape photographer, etc.

I learned the importance of being comfortable behind the lens regardless of the subject you’re capturing, and to find ways to be inspired and creative throughout that process.

Thank you to Jason Bradley for the inspiration, patience, and reminders of how I can use my creativity across multiple mediums.
