There’s nothing I love more than seeing a happy customer! And today, I have an impressive success story to share with you.

I am not a very good writer, but one of my clients asked me to write a script to address her guests. I was hesitant at first, but took a stab at it anyway. I began with what I knew of her guests, what I knew of her family, and added some memorable words she said. All I can say is she was delighted with the script and said she couldn't have said it better. I told her it was based on what I knew of her and she cried. Not exactly a smile, but tears of happiness.

Love is in the air! No matter how you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day, I hope you’re treating yourself to something special. 🌹

DID YOU KNOW?
Although there were several Christian martyrs named Valentine, Valentine’s Day may have taken its name from a priest who was martyred about 270 CE by the Roman emperor Claudius II Gothicus. Other accounts hold that it was St. Valentine of Terni, a bishop, for whom the holiday was named, though it is possible that the two saints were actually one person.

I’ve been super busy these past few weeks putting the finishing touches on rebuilding my business. I didn't lose all my business during our "hibernation" but I did have to abide by safety guidelines, which caused a slowdown in projects. Who’s ready for a big year ahead? I certainly am! So, I wanted to give you the inside scoop on what to expect from event planning in 2022. Here are three exciting trends that I’ve been keeping my eye on in the year ahead: 1. People are interested in hearing ideas that differ from their own, so bring in speakers who challenge audiences to think bigger and broader, 2. "Brain breaks” are crucial to rejuvenating the mind. Instead of cramming a ton of activity into one event be more mindful of your attendees needs and wants, 3. Have a keen awareness of society’s heightened interest in reusing, repurposing and recycling. When setting up events choose items made from biodegradable or recycled materials

What it means to me to stay healthy and why?

Staying in shape and good health is an important part of my life, I feel without health I would be limited with what I want to do.

In my early years I was active in sports, did a variety of exercises (I get bored with a routine), take care of the home front, raise children, watched what I ate, work for Corporate America, and work in the community.

In my later years I am no longer active in sports unless you call cleaning house a sport. I still do exercises, but more of keeping the body limber. I continue to watch what I eat. We have an empty nest now, but I make time for my community and supporting other women business owners.

Today, I am semi-retired - I opened a business in 2003. Bottom line, being healthy helps me to continue to do what I love; being there for family, manage home, travel/visit, and continue to work. I don't know what retirement is, but right now is not it.

Ready to make 2022 your biggest and best year yet? Me too! This year, I’ve got a stack of goals that I can’t wait to work towards including asking for help (I am notorious for doing things alone), continue to build a future for family, and helping others at every opportunity.

To make them happen, I’m going to concentrate on the growth of what these goals do for me by embracing change. It’s human nature to want to improve, but also to resist change. Being aware of that is half the battle.
