Our monthly Special Dinner Series are back. These customized seasonable menus are inspired by Hanif’s celebrated pop-up dinning events that were the birth of Komaaj! We’ve been thinking about the bounty of vegetables in local markets of northern Iran during the summer and with this fully vegetarian menu we like to share the flavors and memories of the Caspian region with our guests! We are delighted to announce Komaaj's next private monthly dinner series. We be hosting this special dinner on Thursday October 24th at Komaaj Mazze Wine Bar in Mission San Francisco.

This Fall Special Seasonal Menu is a 5 Course dinner meal designed by our Executive Chef Hanif showcasing the unique tastes of Northern Iran for the season.

Wine Program at Komaaj Mazze & Wine Bar

Part of what makes the experience of Komaaj unique is our regional wine sourced from family-owned wineries of the Caucasus Region:

Armenia, Georgia and Azarbaijan.

The Caucasus region is believed to be the birthplace of wine and first wines ever fermented took place in regions near Caucasus & Zagros mountains in northern & western regions of Iran. Northern Iran is located on the southern side of the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus region is located on the West side of the Caspian Sea. As a result, terroir of North and North-Western Iran is very close to most parts of the Caucasus.

We are sourcing the types of wine close to techniques and ingredients local to the region. The wines from the region are mostly “natural” since the production method is still traditional in many wineries and producers all over the region.

As this month was the start of Mehregan Festival celebrations for autumn harvest, abundance, friendship and light, we offer a 20% DISCOUNT on any Bottle of Wine you order throughout month of October.
