September 2019. Before heading to San Francisco airport to fly back to Paris, I stopped by the Lookout, just a few steps away from the house. That Sunday afternoon, like every Sunday after brunch, the Lookout was packed. The music was really good and caught my attention, as did the crowd, so happy and full of life. I felt so much positive energy, Stephanie’s music seduced me, the sound system was excellent, the atmosphere electric and joyful… everything made me want to play there. I felt connected.
When I got back to Paris, I reached out to the Lookout simply to invite them to check out my music on my SoundCloud and hopefully get some feedback.
Very quickly, I received something totally unexpected and beyond what I had hoped for: an invitation to play at the Lookout for Halloween. Needless to say, getting such a message before going to bed kept me from sleeping, I was way too happy and excited.
That very first time in San Francisco gave me the confidence to reach out to other teams I wanted to connect with, and soon after, I got a positive response from the Electroluxx crew. That party was full of colors and once again overflowing with good vibes.
This year, I’ll of course return with immense pleasure to the decks at the Lookout and at Electroluxx for their FOLSOM Edition. But above all, I’m thrilled at the idea of playing for the very first time at the EAGLE SF, especially on Folsom Sunday. EAGLE SF means a lot to me. It’s a special place, part of history, where I’ve always dreamed of playing. Its atmosphere, its crowd, its spirit of freedom are for me unique, rare, and exceptional sources of inspiration for my music.
I’ve known it for a long time, but now I’m absolutely certain : San Francisco is more than ever my city of the heart. Today I think of everyone who opened doors for me, who trusted me, supported me, encouraged me, inspired me, even when I was out there in the middle of the dance floor. For all that shared energy, for all those good vibes, for all the experiences that shaped me and made me the happy man I am today, with all my love, I just want to say one word : THANK YOU.
