Always entertaining with Jeff Barnes, Oakland and LA Raider super bowl champ. I’ve photographed Jeff at many golf tournaments over 20 years and he never fails to give good belly laughs and interesting stores about the glory days of the Raiders. I was fortunate to book him for one of my corporate annual golf tournaments…he was a big hit and a surprise to all. Placed him on one of the holes with no notice to golfers. Thanks again Jeff and Anetha Barnes for always being supportive in the community, sincerely a dynamic duo.

Nice to share an evening w/dynamic, purpose filled peeps at the Bauman Center in Berkeley. Dr. Bauman is a celebrated nutritionist. The city bestowed a building to Dr. Bauman 10 yrs ago to encourage wellness practices in nutrition to improve health, resilience, longevity, and mental wellness, along with other purpose filled initiatives. The Blackhawk Museum. A must see venue, gifted to us by the late Ken Behring for the enjoyment of vintage cars, with Smithsonian based exhibits to boot. Grown men get giddy in the presents of these masterpieces. One must visit or attend an event at the museum if in the area. Are team took images of 400+ attendees by the 1933 Packard 1001 Standard Eight Coup Roadster as a keepsake for attending the Gatsby themed Employee Appreciation Gala for Sutter Health.

Great event for Pathways For Kids, wonderful organization that helps youth in San Francisco. The auction items were some of the best I’ve seen over the years. Also a thrill to finally photograph the Mark Hopkins hotel. One of my first visits to SF was going to the Top of the Mark with my mother to have a cocktail, a classic thing to do in San Francisco. Of course my mother was counting how many drinks I had since she didn’t drink. 😆. May the generosity of those who have done well continue.

It’s with a sad heart to hear that Eddie Money has passed. Photographed Eddie several times over the years. First time was at Ricky’s Sports Pub, a Harley Davidson promo with Dave August and then at a golf tournament I worked for 7 years in a row. Eddie was there for most of them. He was a regular guy, approachable and generous with his time and money. He supported multiple causes and people. He lived in the Bay Area for a time years ago. Loyal friend to many and naturally fun with that NY swagger.

His music was in the background of my life in the 80s. I remember listening to his album, I mean tape on the beach in FL with Tara Smith and Cynthia Petersen Summerfelt, We should be Sleeping (Tara), One Love, Bring on the Rain.

Here’s hoping your laying on a white sand beach in Paradise. Rest In Peace.

Photographing over the years often provides opportunities to cover the same people year after year. Ken Behring, friends and family is one of those customers.

Mr. Behring was born in the depression era from a modest family. He became one of the largest builders in the U.S., developing neighborhoods like Tamarac, FL (which is his first car co. spelled backwards) the Blackhawk area in Danville, CA, and multiple communities with Ken Hofmann and other noted developers.

Mr. Behring was generous in many ways. Notably the Wheelchair Foundation, giving away over a million wheelchairs to children and adults. He also funded cateract surgical locations for the elderly in third world countries, helping friends buy businesses and a host of other generous acts. A shrewd businessman, owner of the Seattle Seahawks with Ken Hofmann for a decade and a multitude of other ventures. He expected excellence but most importantly integrity of word. He’s from the generation where deals were made on a handshake, and when talking to friends they would point at each other. Mr. Behring donated $100 million to the Smithsonian and is the largest single donor to the Smithsonian to date.

As a photographer, there’s no better feeling than to be trusted by an individual or family to photograph them. There were times I photographed Mr. Behring and his comrades where I was the only female in the room. This type of trust goes beyond my ability as a photographer. There’s no better feeling than to have trust.

May the spirit of Mr. Behrings giving live on forever and may we all also be generous and giving to others as many have done for us.

First year with CAIS (Chinese American Int’l School). Super nice group of people. Great silent and live auction items. The camaraderie and care for each other came out in these images well. I always feel that you need to take an image fairly quickly when a group gets together to catch their authentic smile. I’ve never been one that likes to count to three before snapping an image. Nice thing is it’s digital so you can take as many pictures as you want without wasting money.

Framed collage for event at Scott’s Jack London Square. I used both booth and event images. Not as easy to flow when use both types of images but feel we made it work. When the pictures have meaning the art direction can take a back seat in the customers eye. Middle image was view from event location.

Scott’s at Jack London Square. Photo booth and event coverage. It’s interesting to have the booth at a corporate event. Many who used the booth have never been in one. I’m concluding that if you don’t go to weddings or kids parties you probably have not been in a photo booth before. I’m making a collage hereafter with photo booth and event images. Stay tuned for results. 😊

Another year at Deck the Hall at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. The symphony puts on such a class act performance and the decor, highlighting the generous sponsors of the arts brings such delight to all. It’s quite the feet to print and email 85 images in one hour. The volunteers are key in moving the crowd/kids in a graceful way. Sam from Leftwich Events who originally introduced me to the Symphony is Santa. He’s taking over the likes of a patron who played Santa for over 45 years. If you’ve never attended a Deck with your kids or grand kids, I highly recommend it.

Grand Opening of the Park James Hotel in Menlo Park. The Pollock Developers have built a good portion of Menlo over 50+ years. Many long time residents attended with the Mayor who grew up with one of the Pollock brothers. So wonderful to witness and photograph this beloved community.

Event at Willie McCoveys restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA about eight years ago at a Special Olympics fundraiser. I always felt this would be an image that would honor him well, with memorabilia behind him. Always approachable and generous. Rest in Peace #44.

I feel so fortunate to take part in nonprofit organizations that really make a difference. Lincoln (Lincolnfamilies.org) is one of them. It means so much to me to participate and create memories of the tremendous giving of organizations and individuals. It really shows gratitude for all that one has been provided. Photographed Super Bowel I at the NFL Alumni this weekend. Yes, you heard it right Super BOWEL. All guest walked through large colon before step and repeat. A couple X football players (49ers and Raiders) had colonoscopys the day of the event. The one with the most polyps removed won the trophy! How creative is that!!

The organization who created this event is Strides for Life. Strides literally has saved lives. The young man in picture attached was taken by colon cancer at the young age of 23. His mother was one of the founders of Stride. Stride has literally saved lives by providing free testing kits to detect colon cancer and raising awareness on symptoms. Colon Cancer is 99% preventable, get screened folks. Most insurances encourage your first colonoscopy at 50 years old. I demanded to be screened after my mother passed of ovarian cancer since there is a link. Please people, go to www.StridesForLife.org and read up on symptoms. If you identify with such, demand that your doctor orders a colonoscopy. I post this in memory of Rebecca Hilaire Temple. We miss and love you.

Yet another year at the San Francisco Symphony. I believe it's been 10 or 11 years now that we serviced the Santa pictures. Some serious cuteness going on here. Approx. 100 pictures printed and emailed in 45 minutes with 5 volunteers. Great for social media posting-boost for symphony awareness.

Photographed the NFL Alumni office for promo reasons in Redwood City, CA. There facility is like a museum. A must see for football fans. Will be interesting to see how the NFL handles the kneeling controversy. Appears to be hurting viewership and sponsor involvement.

Holiday/service award event for hospital in East Bay. Many hospitals have their events before holiday begins since their tends to be a higher frequency of patients due to travel. Photos in a Flash provided a step and repeat themed location and a PHOTO BOOTH. You heard it right, we now have photo booths.

This is our third year with this customer. Event coverage was done by a gentleman who has worked this event for many years. Gotta love the loyalty!
