Humbled by the grandness of this structure. Lit’rally goes as far as the eye can see. Simply, amazing. Also it was cold af, can’t imagine having to sleep out here. Happy Chinese New Year!

I’m thankful for a life long partner in adventuring through amazing places like this. This is from our Grand Canyon trip from last year. It was v cold, but the hype is real...hard to take a bad photo in a beautiful place like this. Trust me, I tried!

I found it really interesting to how we treat our wildlife animals in the US vs. the 🦌 deer in Nara, Japan. in the US we are actively taught to scare off any encroaching animal as to not make them comfortable with humans so they wouldn’t rely on us for food - ever see those don’t feed the wildlife signs? 🙋‍♂️ Whereas here in Nara the place is littered with deer who walk amongst the humans in their parks, roads, and on the sidewalks. Many of the shops here have deer in their logos as they embraced in their community (lots of roadside signs notifying drivers too!)
Anyways I’m not advocating that any culture is right, but just thought it was interesting.

And yes, they bow when you give them a biscuit.

Over Memorial Day Weekend, I set out with a group of friends to hike Mt. Whitney. This was far the hardest thing we’ve ever attempted. 6000’+ elevation to 14.5k’, starting at midnight, ice axes and crampons in tow, all in 1 day. Although we only made it to the top of the chute (snow covered 99 switchbacks) we glissaded in high spirits and an immense sense of accomplishment.
Thankful we all made it down safely. Mt Whitney will be there and we’ll be back for the summit, sans-snow. @ Mount Whitney
