The Lit Slam

The Lit Slam The Lit Slam is a monthly live performance-curated print journal. Help us find the best art at the intersection of page and stage.

We're the best possible combination to arise from smashing "Norton's Anthology" together with "American Gladiator". On the 3rd Monday of every month for the low low price of $10 at the door, we bring great writing, evocative performance, and the delightfully unexpected element of an ever-changing audience together to compile an annual poetry journal. Have a drink and get rowdy in the name of image

ry that makes you feel something. We call it "Participating in the oral tradition with a brand new twist," but you might just think of it as "The best Monday night of the month." Either way, you won't be sorry you came.

We're not at the National Poetry Slam (first time we're missing it since our founding!), so if you were even *thinking* of going to this event while you're there, PLEASE DO. 3000 miles is just about the only reasonable distance to explain missing such necessary work.

The penultimate show of our 3rd Season brought us a thoughtful audience, gorgeous poetry, and a lot of fun. Thanks to Dean Rader (our featured reader), and Joshua Merchant and Katie Wirsing (1st and 2nd place at our slam, respectively) for letting us publish your work in "Tandem!"

Next Monday we get to feature the work of the incredible Ladan Osman and Melissa Stein. Watch Ladan be at least six different kinds of brilliant in this very short poem, and then then come to the season finale of The Lit Slam (https://www.facebook.com/events/1529414150657019/) and have her sign a copy of her chapbook and/or one of your body parts. We'll make sure she's got a Sharpie.
