Edvard Elgar - Enigma Variations , Op. 36

Music Director Jessica Bejarano and the San Francisco Philharmonic close their season with an unforgettable evening of passion, brilliance, and sweeping orchestral power.

The concert opens with Marche Slave, one of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s most electrifying works—a thrilling musical journey from darkness to triumph, filled with soaring melodies, thunderous climaxes, and a finale that will shake the hall.

Then, acclaimed soloist Anne Richardson, Associate Principal Cello of the San Francisco Symphony, brings warmth, elegance, and virtuosic brilliance to Tchaikovsky’s beloved Variations on a Rococo Theme—a dazzling showcase of lyrical beauty and expressive artistry.

The evening culminates with Edward Elgar’s monumental Enigma Variations, a masterpiece of mystery, emotion, and cinematic grandeur. Each variation paints a vivid musical portrait—tender, playful, noble, and deeply moving—building toward the transcendent majesty of “Nimrod,” one of the most beloved moments in all orchestral music. Featured in countless iconic films, this unforgettable work speaks directly to the human spirit.

Lisa Geduldig Presents… Resilient Comedy

The Resilient Comedy monthly comedy series returns on Wednesday, May 27th after a 8-month hiatus. The show is produced and hosted by Lisa Geduldig, Producer of Kung Pao Kosher Comedy and other Bay Area comedy shows. The show takes place monthly at the Eclectic Box (formerly StageWerx), an 80-seat black box theater in San Francisco’s Mission District.

Partial proceeds from the May show benefits Mujeres Unidas y Activas, which strengthens Latina immigrant women and activism in defense of immigrant rights and social justice. Megan Lowe Dances

"Air Between Us" is a landmark vertical dance performance, where aerial performers scale walls, soar across open spaces, and cascade down a building facade—turning the architecture of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts into an uncommon dance partner.

In this new site-specific work from Megan Lowe Dances, performers climb, float, and fall in a choreography shaped by gravity, trust, and interdependence. What unfolds is both breathtaking and intimate: bodies moving through air, gathering and separating, revealing how the space between us can hold tension, tenderness, and connection.

Created for a city newly aware of the fragility of breath, "Air Between Us" invites audiences to look up, feel together, and experience YBCA in a way they never have before.

Come witness dance that defies the floor, and discover what becomes possible when we share the same air.
