Cake deets:
Bottom tier: Ombré buttercream in our sunset-inspired palette
Both tiers: combination of signature Antique Aesthetic and Buttercream Palette knife designs

Just got our previews back, so prepare for a deluge of gorgeous photos!!

Maybe it’s the planner in me or the romantic in me, but I’m a sucker for detail shots. Every single item in this picture has so much sentimental value that my heart swells just looking at it ❤️

Hi 👋🏼 everyone! To those of you who are new, I’m Amy, the woman behind Hitch Perfect.

This photo is the epitome of ‘before’ to me:
- before COVID; this shoot was exactly a year ago!
- after the grave mistake that was those bangs but before the eight months it took to grow them out (the one time I was actually grateful for quarantine) 🤣
- before I got engaged 💍
- before the wedding industry collectively screamed ‘PIVOT’!

If you could go back in time to one year ago, what would you tell yourself??

I would say, “your years of experience of staying calm and collected in the face of last-minute wedding emergencies is gonna come in reallllll handy in 5...4...3...2...”

What is giving me life these days? Planning my own wedding 👰🤵⁣

After planning and coordinating over 100 weddings, you would think I would know *exactly* what I would want and I could plan my own in under two months - and that’s partly true (we’ve booked venue, photog, coordinator, DJ, started our registry, and working on catering) 😂⁣
⁣
One thing I knew for sure is that I wanted a bright citrus-inspired palette, but what I didn’t count on was my fiancé having his own opinions (the nerve of him assuming this day was partly about him 😆)... ⁣
⁣
While he loved the bright colors I picked, he said an emphatic ‘no’ to wearing pink on his wedding day and insisted on wearing his favorite - and very dashing - navy suit. ⁣
⁣
So in the spirit of compromise, I searched high and low for a flower arrangement that would marry the two (pun intended!!) color schemes and low and behold THE BOUQUET OF MY DREAMS - see pic here. ⁣

I instantly fell in love with this color combo and it will be the inspiration for all of our floral arrangements and other décor. What do you think??⁣

There is no one right way to navigate wedding plans this season and I’m so proud of each and every one of my clients that have chosen the best path for them. Weddings may look different in the coming years - whether they’re official ceremonies or super blinged out anniversary parties -but at the end of the day the focus will always be on celebrating love. ⁣
⁣
A&G had a spectacular Russian River wedding weekend planned for mid-August, but since family is SUPER important to them and his live in Israel, they made the decision to postpone the celebration to next year. ⁣
⁣
But, like so many other couples that have had to postpone multiple times, they decided they were ready to take the legal step anyway and eloped at Joshua Tree (perfect for all my outdoors-lovers!! 🌵) ⁣
⁣
Oh did I mention they also had COVID back in March?? 😱😱This couple has been through the ringer this year and I’m so happy that they ultimately took the plunge to start their life together now as husband and wife. ⁣
⁣

No matter what your celebration looks like this year (or next!), I can assure you that some things always stay the same....

Wedding planner pro tip: I keep several packs of tissues in my go-bag for the day and hand them out to family and bridal party members (those with pockets 😂) for moments just like these. ⁣⁣

Wow, it’s been over a month since I’ve posted... where does the time go???⁣

I’ll tell you where my mind has been:⁣
➡️ with my clients, who have made beautiful and hard decisions to either postpone or have a very different version of the wedding they’ve been planning ⁣
➡️ focused on what needs to be done to stay afloat in the gorgeous Bay Area (guess what, I’m gonna say it - you don’t HAVE to pivot your business if it doesn’t feel like the right thing to do) by taking on a 9-5 job until weddings pick back up again ⁣
➡️ taking in gorgeous scenery in deserts and mountains as I took a mini camping roadtrip with my fiancé..... wait, what??⁣
➡️ yes, I got ENGAGED 💍💍💍💍 on the shores of Lake Tahoe and have officially joined my clients as a bride-to-be 🥰⁣

Tell me, how are you doing?? I want to connect to this world again - clients, fellow vendors, past clients, people passing by, just engaged... talk to me! ⁣
