Kids and Family Concert Oct 3: Kora master Yacouba Sissoko and percussionist Idrissa Koné come from Mali's djeli tradition, where musicians have always been the storytellers for their communities. They're joined by Grammy-winning cellist Mike Block, who's played all over the world with Yo-Yo Ma's Silkroad Ensemble. Together they'll fill the room with the ripple of kora strings, the rumble of talking drums, and the shake of the calabash — music that invites kids to clap, move, and discover just how far a song can travel, all joyfully interactive! Today we honor Juneteenth with a throwback to this stellar performance by Nicholas Phan and Palaver Strings on the Noe Music MainStage this past April.
