If driving, Howard street offers a large quantity of free street parking at night and metered parking during the day. The 5th and Mission Garage is just 3 blocks away and there are 2 other garages within 2 blocks of THE BOX SF. Please check MUNI transit schedules and routes for the nearest MUNI access. SAN FRANCISCO’S HISTORIC LETTERPRESS PRINTING STUDIOS, MERCANTILE AND PRINTED MATTER ARCHIVE! We're located at 1069 Howard Street (Between 6th and 7th) In the South of Market area of San Francisco, just 2 blocks from Moscone Convention Center and Civic Center BART station. The Box SF the former 'William Randolph Hearst Printing Plant' and formerly one of San Francisco’s premiere event spaces has been transformed and restored to accommodate a wealth of printed history, product, books, packaging, antiques and original and hand crafted letterpress printed matter and related hand-crafted product. The Pressroom on the ground floor of this three story building, has presses dating as early as 1841. Each of our Printing presses have been perfectly restored and are in working order. The Box SF prints, produces, exhibits, sells and educates it’s Client’s on the remarkable and varied types of printing that were done in the past and continues using those same methods in our own work everyday! The entire building is filled with millions of pieces of antique and rare ephemera, prints, posters, labels, cards, books, packaging and graphic objects dating from 1840-1945. We also house house many thousands of tools, toys, printing objects, design materials and other resources to collage, rubber stamp, perforate, crimp and create journals, books, cards, and unique printed matter. Stop by, order some beautiful Letterpress printing, pick up a one of a kind gift, attend a class and enjoy this opportunity to step back in time, absorbing this visual feast! Hours are Monday through Friday 9am-6pm by appointment, and at specific requested times on evenings or weekends. 6 Meetings and Private Event Spaces on 4 floors, including our top floor with our 337 year old Gate Room Table that seats 32 people, (the room seats 50), Our main events and meeting space for Corporate Events, including conferences, off-sites, meetings, weddings, trade wine and alcohol tastings, film and photoshoots, dinners, receptions and weddings. 3 additional Breakout Rooms and Private Suites on our second floor, that also connect to our spectacular top floor main space, and our basement hidden Speakeasy can be added on to any event! Finally, our Antique and Vintage 1850's Mercantile and Store is a recreation of a Country Store and sells "All Things Printed" is is also available for small, intimate private receptions, cocktail parties and tours, and is open daily as a retail store 10am to 5pm. The Box SF also houses our Antique Letterpresses and Reflectur our Graphic Design and Branding Agency. We do events 24/7, the Mercantile is closed Sunday and most major Holidays!

WE HAVE THE LARGEST AND OLDEST MEETING AND DINING TABLE AT 335 YEARS OLD, AND MADE FROM VILLAGE GATE DOORS FROM CHINA!
