Femme Friday: This , we are highlighting the inspiring (AND former 2 the 9s Events' Bride) Melissa! Melissa Saxe Blaustein is Vice Mayor of Sausalito, where she was also the city's youngest-ever mayor. A lifelong Marin County resident, she is the founder of Allied for Startups, a global network focused on improving the policy environment for entrepreneurs, and is currently writing her memoir. Her career in policy and advocacy spans the local, national, and international levels, with roles at the White House, UN Women, and with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, among others. She is a board member of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, and an active voice against antisemitism and hate. When she's not in City Hall or at her desk writing, you'll find her swimming in the Bay with her husband Dave or out on the trails with their chocolate lab Bowie. Oh, and she swam the English Channel — because of course she did.
