Asher Watkins, a 52-year-old American ranch tycoon, was k*lled almost instantly after a Cape buffalo charged him during a $10,000 hunting safari in South Africa.

Watkins, who owned a luxury ranch real estate company in Texas, was stalking the buffalo on foot with a professional hunter and tracker when the 900kg animal, known as one of Africa’s most dangerous, suddenly attacked.

The Cape buffalo, nicknamed “Black Death,” is responsible for numerous hunter deaths each year. It can run at 35mph, blend into the brush, and continue charging even after being shot. Safari operators describe it as the most feared of Africa’s “Big Five.”
