Christmas is almost here and I am feeling so many emotions! Thinking back to my childhood in Cleveland when we had snowy magical days filled with sledding and snow angels - I truly miss that feeling and I even miss the slushy melted black piles of melting snow in the streets. 🤪 Remembering Johnny, my parents, and other family members who aren’t with us anymore… as well as family and friends who are far away - I wish I could be with all of them this season! Looking back on the tough times over these last bunch of years and trying to learn from those while pushing forward with fresh eyes. Also thinking about all of the amazing possibilities that 2024 has in store and manifesting dreams I have for the near future. Even when things are tough or frustrating or low - I try my best to look at the things I have been blessed with in this life and be grateful for those - it never fails to amaze me how gratitude can change things. It’s like a secret that I wish I would have known a long time ago. I am looking forward to great things coming to light this year and to sharing my creative gifts with you. Thank you to everyone who has been there for me and my business. Thanks to those who have supported me personally and just been there when I needed to vent. So many emotions but mostly gratitude! Hi! I’m Dawn Steel - I’m the owner and lead designer for and . I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a bit about me and my business.
*I started coordinating weddings over 15 years ago and then began my floral design business. I love both the creative aspect of designing floral arrangements as well as spreadsheets and lists for event planning - both sides of the brain!
*I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio eating our family’s favorite traditional Polish foods like pierogies, kielbasa, and golabki.
*I majored in graphic design and studio art at Kent State University.
*I was the dance team and flag team captain in both high school and college.
*Some early aspirations were to be a makeup artist, professional bowler, graphic designer, and a real estate developer. Yes, I love all the HGTV shows!
*I love live music! Some of my all-time favorites are
*I love vibrant colors, Dutch Masters paintings, op art, & over-the-top decor & weddings.
*I love lobster, cheese boards, chocolate, white and rosé wine, cosmopolitans, most any dessert (except things with lemon), mai tais, and a great steak!
*I absolutely hate olives, and cannot stand anything spicy, Taco Bell is too spicy for me, ha! 🥵
*I am a Libra, and definitely show many of the typical traits. I need things to be balanced and fair!
*Hawaii is my happy place but my bucket list includes Bora-Bora and the Christmas markets of Europe.
*Rick Steves is my PBS travel crush, he is the best!
*I am a total 80s fan! Movies that I can recite almost every line to include: Back to the Future, The Goonies, Pretty In Pink, St. Elmo‘s Fire, and the Breakfast Club. Pretty much any 80’s music is for me!
*I am a firm believer in the golden rule, and in cooperation over competition!
*I am so looking forward to getting to know all of my couples in the coming years, and to forging new relationships with amazing event, vendors! 😘🙏🏻🌷

I absolutely loved working with this cheery spring palette! Pairing colored taper candles and colored linens really elevated this look. And I cannot get over how sweet these pin frog florals were - I mean - those tulips 😍🌷 And then Kelsey added some whimsical butterflies to the tablescape - amazing!!
