As a mother, a daughter, and a wife, there are so many moment in our loved one’s life that we wish we had taken a picture of to capture the essence of the moment, whether it is a child celebrating a birthday, the first day of school, a husband’s promotion or just a normal day in the Sasebo area. Those are the moments I lik

e to capture amongst others and that is the art I love to do. I am not a studio type of photographer, so everything I do is taken in a natural setting. She stood there quietly under the cherry trees, hands resting on her belly, eyes half-closed against the spring breeze. I didn’t need to ask her to pose. I could feel the story unfolding on its own. It was the kind of moment that doesn’t shout. It just breathes. And as I clicked the shutter, I realized I wasn’t just photographing a season.I was witnessing the start of a whole new one in her life.
