This S'more Cake was a custom cake flavor that tastes just like your favorite summer campfire snack. This cake features 3 layers of delicious graham cracker inspired cake with a chocolate ganache and marshmallow filling. On the outside, a rich chocolate buttercream carefully dusted with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate ganache drizzle and piped, freshly made marshmallows that are torched to perfection.

Here are 3 sizzling tips to help you out this grilling season!

Nothing beats the smell of charcoal burning and the taste of perfectly grilled food! Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, here a few of our sizzling tips to take your grilling game to the next level:

1. Start with a Clean Grill: A clean grill helps prevents flare-ups and you get the perfect grill marks. Rather than using a wire brush, use half of a peeled onion to clean your grill. Rub the grates with the cut side down to remove the debris.

2. Preheat Properly: Be sure to get your grill to heat up properly before adding your food. Food will naturally release from the grates when it's ready.

3. Skewers Assemble!: If you're grilling with skewers, soak your skewers in warm water for 30 minutes to and hour before you assemble. This will prevent them from burning when putting them on the grill.

The grilling season is just beginning!

Today, we'd like to propose a toast to the fallen men and women of our armed forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our country.

We support and continue to honor those currently serving and our veteran community in San Diego. However, we should never forget the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our freedom. Sometimes, at restaurants and formal military receptions, you will find a special table that is set and reserved to honor those who are missing.

The setting of the table hold a lot of significance:

The table is round to show our everlasting concern.
The chair is empty, for they are not here.
The tablecloth is white to symbolize the purity of their intentions when answering the call to serve.
The single red rose reminds us of their lives and their loved ones who keep the faith awaiting their return.
A slice of lemon reminding us of their bitter fate.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the countless tears of the families
The yellow ribbon and lighted candle reflects our hope for their safe return and reunion with the missing.
The glass is inverted to symbolize that they cannot toast with us.

Red poppies are also used as a symbol of remembrance of those who have fallen in war. The poem "In Flanders Fields" inspired the adoption of red poppies as a symbol of remembrance after the resilient flowers flourished in the area where the destruction and chaos of war had taken place. The symbolic use of the poppy spans over 100 years and continues to be utilized as a humble representation of remembrance and hope.

This Memorial Day we solemnly honor the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our freedom. With our deepest gratitude we remember your service and dedication. You are not forgotten.

At MPI's Global Meetings Industry Day, we celebrated the 45th Anniversary of the San Diego chapter with food inspired by our very own city.

The event's menu featured items inspired by the Little Italy neighborhood with San Diego flair and classic flavors.
This menu featured:
- Italian Shrimp & Grits: shrimp, garlic butter, grilled summer corn, mascarpone, polenta, Italian salsa verde
- Dulce de Leche Tiramisu: banana mascarpone and caramel popcorn

Bloom Bash 2024 brought together amazing art and floral installations to celebrate the art of India.

To go along with the theme, we prepared bites that were inspired by Indian cuisine. Our menu featured:
- Curried Crepe Cones: curry spiced crepe with chickpea vegetable samosa filling topped with mango and mint chutneys
- Mini Pistachio Cupcake with Rose Water Buttercream

Each year, we look forward to the theme the selected to help create the menu. Lately, our pistachio cupcakes have been a hit- it has the perfect balance of flavors that complement one another.

We love curating menu items that are creative but also are inspired by each event. Whether it's a bride or groom's favorite snack or a fun signature cocktail to go along with a company's brand identity, our team of chefs love creating a fun and innovative way to personalize each menu.
