Today, we are reaching out to our foodie family and extended community to share some difficult news regarding a legendary member of our family: our Chef de Cuisine, Hide.

On April 28th, Hide was diagnosed with
Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (ESRD).
After an 11-day hospital stay, he is resting at home and preparing to begin Peritoneal Dialysis—an at-home treatment he will maintain until he can receive a kidney transplant.

We are asking our foodie family and community to help us with a special request: finding a match.

The ultimate goal for Hide’s recovery is a kidney transplant.
We are currently seeking volunteers who may be interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a living kidney donor. It is important to note that you do not have to be an exact medical match to Hide to help.

It's Cinco de Mayo and Taco Tuesday and we're excited to honor today with street food inspired tapas that celebrate some of the influential cultures in our community.

We're snacking on Fresh Fruit with Tajin + Lime and Mexican Street Corn Dip. We also are having some Spicy Grapefruit Margaritas to pair perfectly with today's festivities.

Our menus are not only inspired by global cuisines, but also from the diverse San Diego community including connections and influence from Baja California, Tijuana, and Mexico, and many others that enrich our city. By drawing on local inspiration, we're able to curate culinary experiences for a variety of events, inviting guests to savor a true taste of San Diego's diversity.

Food has been a meaningful way to honor cultural identities by weaving representative flavors from their different traditions and cuisine into creating a memorable event experience.

This community has given us tremendous support and inspiration for over 21 years, and proud to create menus that truly highlight the vibrant communities, cultures, and cuisines through our food.

Salud San Diego and to the local Mexican-American, Hispanic, Latino/a, Chicano/a communities for their rich culinary contributions and the joy it brings to every table we serve.

Today we're blooming wit joy to be part of tonight's Bloom Bash celebration

Tonight's event kicks off their annual Art Alive exhibit that features stunning floral displays inspired by this year's theme of A Centennial Soirée in Full Bloom.

Each year, we're excited to learn about the exhibit's theme and use it to inspire the menu we feature at the evening's festivities. It gives us an opportunity to create menu items that are unique and creative, a true testament to our ability to create custom menu items for each of our clients.

We can hardly contain our excitement and cannot wait to see you there!

We're continuing the celebration of returning to Bloom Bash at The San Diego Museum of Art with a few throwbacks of our menus that we created for this event.

Last year, our team created two iconic menu items that truly embodied plant power:

- Plant Based Poke Bowl with sushi rice, marinated beets, carrots, avocado, cucumber, radish, scallion, chopped macadamia nuts, crispy onion, carrot sesame dressing, garnished with fried sesame cracker

- Ombre Mousse Shot with coconut vanilla cookie crumble, butterfly pea flower, ube, hibiscus mousse, shaved white chocolate and flower garnish

Both of these menu items accommodated dietary needs for both vegans and gluten free guests. When we develop our menu items, we always ask our clients if there are any guests that have dietary accommodations that need to be met. Our talented team of chefs have the ability to make modifications to some of our recipes to help make suggestions to accommodate.

Unique menu items and requests like these are truly at the heart of what it means to create and develop menus that bring exciting flavors with a bit of that foodie touch!

We're so excited to be back at Bloom Bash this Friday.

To celebrate, we're sharing some of our food from previous appearances.

The Art Alive 2024 theme featured Indian Art and Culture with floral displays prominently displayed throughout the museum. We used the theme to inspire curated bites that included:

- Curried Crepe cone with curried spiced crepe, chickpea vegetable samosa filling, mango and mint chutney, micro cilantro
- Mini Pistachio Cupcake with pistachio sponge and rosewater buttercream

We truly love creating menu items that align with our client's event theme and bring unique flavors inspired by different cuisines and cultures.
