Mark your poetry calendars! Verbatim Books is hosting an evening celebrating Women in a Golden State, an anthology from Gunpowder Press featuring poems by California women age 60 and beyond. This collection shines a light on the voices, experiences, and artistry of women whose work continues to shape and enrich our literary landscape.

The event will include readings from seven poets featured in the anthology, joined by special guests Chryss Yost, co-editor of the collection, along with three San Diego poets adding their own voices to the celebration.

Hosted by Tammy Greenwood and Leslie Hodge 🌼

Featuring:
Lori Anaya, Elena Karina Byrne, Veronica Kornberg, Seretta Martin, and Kathy O’Fallon & Friends Deborah Allbritain, Andrea Carter, and Melissa McKinstry.

The anthology will be available for purchase, along with books by the featured readers. It’s a unique opportunity to engage with California’s vibrant poetry community, hear powerful voices across generations, and support women writers!
