Hey all! It’s been a while. This is WAY overdue, but I do want to share this change. In September 2025, I accepted a full time role as an event coordinator for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance! I’ve been able to continue to use the skills and knowledge I’ve gained from working weddings and other events and apply them to this organization. It’s been a whirlwind filled with new challenges, creating new relationships while seeing all of the animals the zoo and the Safari Park takes care of.
Why the change? My kids are growing and more family time is happening on the weekends. My daughter started softball, my son has grown in karate, and my husband guaranteed day off is Saturday. Family needs had to come first.
I was very fortunate to finish out my weddings last September, October, November and March 2026. Could I kept going, probably. But being back in a work-place environment, which for me has been 7 years, I would have to request time off in order to coordinate wedding. And I think we all agree, PTO is vacation time 😅
The great thing about this industry is that I am still able to see familiar faces while working at the zoo! I still see various DJs, florist, and other wedding coordinators come to the zoo, and we all collaborate and work together to make the day amazing!
I’m letting my website ride out, since it’s the subscription was already paid for and no take-backs, but who knows if I will keep up with this Instagram page. Maybe I’ll start writing blogs, or maybe do fun short videos in my spare time, or this will just live on Instagram as a reminder of that one time I owned a business.
If you are ever thinking of hosting an event at the Zoo or Safari Park, just let me know and I can point you in the right direction. But thank you to all my past wedding couples for trusting me and letting me be part of your special day. It’s because of all of you that I was able to get this job. And a special shout out to Courtney from San Diego Wedding Coordination ! I don’t know where I would be seven years ago if you didn’t come and ask me if I wanted to help out with weddings.
