Mahalo to everyone who came out to our Mother’s Day Lei Workshop this past weekend! 🥰
We had a great time learning how to prep flowers for lei making, how to ku’i poepoe style, and just take in the experience with loved ones. I personally had an amazing time because I got to teach this workshop with my mom and sister by my side! 💕

Graduation Lei Workshop🎓

Come make lei for your graduate or for yourself! ❤️ No previous lei making experience is necessary. This casual style workshop will include two popular styles of lei that are typically common with graduations: a ti leaf lei and a carnation lei. Participants can either sign up for one session or both:
• 1-2pm: Hilo Style (Ti Leaf Lei) - This session would include 15-20 minutes of instruction and 40 minutes of lei making utilizing the hilo style of making lei with softened ti leaves.
• 2-3:30pm: Ku’i Style (Mixed Flower Lei with Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Foliage) - This session would include 30 minutes of instruction and 1 hour of lei making utilizing the ku’i style with a needle and thread.
You get to take your creation home to either wear or gift to someone you love! 🎓

As a small business owner and person who loves connecting with people, it was so fulfilling to meet these business owners, their staff, or just see all their beautiful work up close and in person. Utilizing the ku’i style of lei making, you will create a lei with a needle and thread to create a beautiful premium lei like pictured in the post. “Mommy and Me” special also available! Merrie Monarch Haul 🛍️

I had an amazing time shopping and supporting all the vendors at Merrie Monarch. I only got to make it to Prince Kūhiō Mall, Sangha Hall, and the Merrie Monarch Craft Fair and let’s just say I did lots of damage. 😅 The amount of mākeke’s are bountiful and I wish I could have went to all of them!

Merrie Monarch 2026🌺

In all my years of dancing hula, I have always dreamed about seeing the Merrie Monarch stage in person but to also see my beautiful Kumu on that stage just made it even more memorable. Both kahiko and ‘auana were so beautiful, powerful, and overfilling with mana. I still get chicken skin thinking about it! 😍

As a hula dancer and a lei maker, I feel so inspired and blessed to be able to have these experiences. I’m looking forward to sharing more from my trip to Hilo; from my shopping haul🛍️, to the amazing creatives I got to meet👩🏽‍🎨, and all the beautiful lei, flowers, and greenery that I got to see that continue to inspire me as a lei maker here on the mainland!🌺🌿
