It's bittersweet to make this post: Today is my last wedding as a planner. Today's bride and her mother insist that it's only temporary, but I know it's time. I've been so blessed over the last five years to work with a variety of the most incredible vendors Southern California has to offer and the best clients I could have ever asked for. I've walked hundreds of miles, lifted hundreds of pounds of boxes, designed dozens of invitations and other pieces... I've had a couple of tough days that made me cry, but overall this job has brought me immense joy. I have made true friendships with vendors and clients, learned so much, and challenged myself to always keep learning and growing. Thank you to everyone who helped me to enjoy five years of the hardest job a girl could ever love!! Wishing you all the love!!

If you are trying to reach me, I want to apologize. Between my daughter being sick and me pulling a muscle in my back, it has been a tough week. I am trying to get caught up but all of my back stuff makes me extremely exhausted... I promise I am not ignoring you, I just need to go back to bed. I plan to answer all unread emails tomorrow!

Because my phone has decided that focus is for the birds, I couldn't get a single photo of my own last night. So I had to save this one from Desiree at Penny Blooms... The completely epic cake display, featuring a custom backdrop and cake "stand" by Desiree herself, a watercolor cake by Sweet Cheeks, and that sequined linen by La Tavola! 😍

The bride's mom gave me the BEST compliment tonight: "You made me a believer in wedding planning," she said, because I had made her daughter's vision a reality and it worked so well. Days like this make me forget how tired I am at the end of the night, because I am so high on love.

It's Brianna and Nick's wedding day! I'll be at the La Jolla Shores Hotel today designing a colorful, modern lounge-style reception with Penny Blooms Floral Design and Lounge Appeal. We'll have tunes spun by Events by Dj David Cutler, photography by Melissa Biador Photography, a photobooth provided by 3 2 1 Smile, a custom watercolor painted cake by Sweet Cheeks Baking Company, and ice cream sandwiches from The Baked Bear! Oh yes, and I designed every scrap of custom stationery, including the couple's blue iridescent foil stamped leather save-the-date luggage tags, made for us by Curry's Leather Products, Inc. and their welcome reception beer coozy favors made for us by Vistaprint, as Paper Doll Design Studio. To say I'm excited that this day has arrived would be an understatement! I'm so thrilled to be a part of this gorgeous day!

Because here's the thing... there are lots of articles out there sharing incorrect information about weddings, and it breaks my heart to see. When I was planning my wedding, I was looking for information constantly, and I believed what those articles told me. As a result, my wedding planning experience and actual wedding wasn’t as great as it could have been, and if I had been more educated about weddings in general, everything could have been drastically different. I hope you’ll take this information and truth and apply it to your own wedding planning journey in the best manner possible!
