Here's how this shot works:
1. A cloud presence softens the light and allows for shooting into the sun without having the image blown out.
2. The camera is only a few inches off the ground. This is to a) ensure that the horizon is not chopping through the model's head and b) gives us a nice reflective effect with the sand.
3. The sand. The sand takes on a mirrored/glassy look when it's really fine, and saturated. Low tide helps with this. Coarse sand won't have the same look.
4. Camera settings: 85mm, shutter 250, f 1.8, ISO 100

5. Post production: using VSCO Porta 160, I dragged down the highlights to regain the sky/ clouds texture. Also boosting the shadows to help combat the back lighting. I bumped up contrast and actually reduced saturation slightly.
