So Dave has been updating my website lately—adding new images, testing the contact form, all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

And it reminded me of something that always makes me laugh.

At the AADOM conferences, there’s a wonderful woman named Emme Sanders who leads the Prayer and Pledge in the mornings. One of my favorite parts of the conference is seeing her. She’s always so cheerful, vibrant, and beautifully put together—usually in bold colors. Honestly, she’s like the 4th of July in human form. She just makes people smile.

When you first see her in the morning, she greets everyone with this huge Colgate smile and says in the cutest Southern accent,
“Welcome to WORK!!”

It’s hilarious.

I first noticed it in Las Vegas in 2024. Then last year when I saw her again and she turned around, I blurted it out to her first:
“Welcome to WORK!!”

I got the BEST reaction—huge smile, total surprise. It turned into one of my favorite photos.

Now Dave and I randomly say it to each other sometimes, doing our best Southern accent impression.

So this morning at 4 AM, when Dave tested the contact form on my website, the message he sent just said:

“WooWoooo! Welcome to work!” 😂

I wanted to share a quick note in case it’s helpful. I have limited availability now through February 4 and am open to photographing small events, short coverage, or portrait/headshot sessions during that window.

I’ll be photographing the sessions myself, and I’ll be working with a visiting photographer colleague from South Africa who typically specializes in real estate photography and is assisting me while he gains more experience photographing people during his short visit here.

These sessions are relaxed and professional — great for updated headshots, personal branding, couples, lifestyle portraits, or coverage for a small gathering. Mini sessions start at $350, with very limited availability.

As we get older, life seems to gather speed. We promise each other “We need to do lunch soon!” with such genuine hope—and then the days slip past, turning into months, even years.

Last week, though, time finally stood still for a moment. It was our dear friend Denise’s milestone birthday, and we got to celebrate her with a surprise party filled with so much love. Then on Sunday, July 13th, my sister and I took her out for brunch at Stone Brewing at Liberty Station. Somehow, in all these years, we’d never just sat down to lunch like that together—and it was perfect.

It was one of those days that feels like a gift: easy conversation, so many laughs, good food and drinks, and a slow wander through Liberty Station afterward. At one of the vendor stalls, Denise picked up a peach-scented candle and she showed it to Kristina because it smelled so good. Without missing a beat, Kristina bought it and handed it right back to her. The surprise and delight on Denise’s face was absolutely priceless!

We just wanted her to have a truly beautiful day—because she deserves that and so much more. She’s the kind of person who’s always thinking of others, always giving, always kind. She deserved to feel cherished too.

Happy Birthday, Denise. We love you dearly. You’ll always be family. 💛

Yesterday was all about being there for my dear friend, Rina Gressett, as she celebrated an early 16th birthday and said farewell to her sweet pup, Muffin. While I wasn’t able to make it to the earlier gathering at the park, the universe had other plans. When I found out she was heading to the beach to catch the sunset, I invited myself along (no shame!)—and I’m so glad I did.

We made it just in time to witness the magic of the sunset at 4:44 PM (you know how much I love those special numbers!). With the waves crashing and the sky painted in golden hues, I captured some incredibly touching moments of Rina with Muffin and her sister, Coco. The love Rina has for her girls is something truly special.

Rina believes her mom is waiting for Muffin in heaven, ready with open arms and a place just for her. This belief added a bittersweet beauty to the evening—a mix of deep love, gratitude, and the ache of goodbye.

I created this video from the photos we took at the beach, where Rina held Muffin the entire time, cherishing every moment. These images are more than just pictures; they’re a tribute to a bond that transcends time and space, and a celebration of the love that will always remain.

Rina, thank you for letting me be part of this special day. Sending you so much love and strength. 💕

On Friday night, we had the privilege of capturing a truly unique and unforgettable session—a late-night beach proposal! We arrived at 10:05 PM to coordinate with the couple's families and officially began at 10:45 PM.

With the beach enveloped in darkness, we relied on extra lighting (thank you, Dave!) to create the perfect ambiance for this special moment. While I’m primarily a photographer, we even incorporated a few video clips to add an extra layer of magic to the memories.

Congratulations, Kylee and Noah, on your engagement! It was such a joy to document this incredible chapter of your love story. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world!

Tonight my boyfriend's nephew asked him this question... "How do you live out your Tov Meod aka perfect purpose in life?" It's for a class project... While talking on the phone, Dave handed me the phone, and Marcos asked me the same question... I had to think about it, but here's what my final response would be...

Living out your Tov Meod, or perfect purpose, means following the path that feels uniquely aligned with who you are and what you are meant to do. For me, as a photographer, it’s not just about capturing images—it’s about helping people see their own beauty and creating memories that last beyond a lifetime. I feel deeply called to help others love themselves a little more through my work.

I believe purpose is guided by something greater than ourselves—whether through Divine Guidance, intuition, or simply listening to what feels right. We all have access to this kind of guidance when we seek it, and it helps us navigate moments of uncertainty.

Living with purpose involves both personal growth and service. While we are responsible for healing and growing as individuals, we also have a duty to serve others. For me, this balance is felt when I see how my work impacts others—whether it's capturing a fleeting moment or preserving someone's memory. I know I’m living out my purpose when it feels deeply fulfilling and good.

To anyone searching for their purpose, I would say—take time to get quiet, seek guidance, and trust in what feels good and right. Purpose evolves over time, but it always leads to something that fulfills you and makes a positive difference for others.

Join us in honoring the memory of Eddie Lindros, a beloved retired teacher and expert backpacker who touched the lives of thousands of individuals. Eddie's passion for the outdoors and dedication to mentoring young adventurers led to the creation of the iconic Poway Backpackers program in 1972.

With boundless energy and enthusiasm, Eddie embarked on countless hiking trips, exploring the stunning landscapes of California's Sierra, Mammoth, and Yosemite. He instilled invaluable life lessons in his students, teaching them personal responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance.

Eddie's impact extended far beyond the trails. He was a true mentor, shaping the lives of those he encountered with his no-nonsense attitude and genuine care. Whether it was outright telling you to your face, “I think you’re full of sh*t!” or waking up students for backpacking with cold water, his actions always came from a place of love.

For decades, Eddie shared his knowledge and passion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the countless individuals he inspired to embrace the beauty of the outdoors and cherish the power of teamwork.

We celebrate the life and legacy of Eddie Lindros, who will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to empowering the next generation of adventurers. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us as we journey through life, knowing that he has left a lasting impact on the world he loved so dearly.
