Recently, a loved and trusted DJ/Promoter friend of mine suggested my posts are too long. I know. I have been typing and texting novels to my friends and family for years, and am well aware that my style probably leads to TLDR often. ‘The artist formerly known as The Kid Inside, AKIVA is a melodic house and techno
producer/DJ/live act based in Los Angeles, producing and curating music inspired
by the progressive house scene of the early 2000s. Topping Beatport charts with
music on U.K. underground labels Deepdowndirty, Gibbon Records, the
progressive U.K. powerhouse, Pro B Tech Records and labels such as Mistique Music, Layer Caked and Balkan Connection.

Resident on Saturo Sounds with a
monthly radio and podcast series “Beautifully Told”, and Identity Presents - the premier LA-based event curator, hosting and playing with Modus, Galestian, Cid Inc, Miyagi, and Dave
Seaman.

2021 saw AKIVA assume the role of A&R for the Saturo Sounds label imprint,
releasing the "Sounds of Saturo, Vol. 2" compilation. Charting at #7 in the Melodic
House and Techno, #4 in both Progressive and Organic House, #1 in Breaks, and #4 Overall charts. Closing out the year with the #1 Progressive House release thereafter.

Starting 2022 with a remix of Clasroom (UK) “Tundra” on the Saturo imprint, landing on top 10 Beatport progressive and organic houses releases.

His latest tracks, a collaboration with Enertia-Sound “Inner Light” on the mighty Mistique Music label and a remix of Artem Arknet’s “Waterfall” on the legendary Balkan Connection label, also landed on the progressive house charts at number 10 and 11, respectively.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Chris Mindel

"Chris Mindel is a Los Angeles-based House and Techno DJ and Producer originally from Louisville, Kentucky. Playing the string bass in the orchestra taught him music theory and composition, but his journey through dance music goes back to roller skating rinks and radio mix (cassette) tapes. Attending his first rave in 2004, he picked up turntables and was DJing by 2006, and was introduced to production in 2007.

In 2009 he became a founding member of the Disco Aliens and their early success led to performances from Louisville to St. Louis, MO, and throughout the Mid-West. The Disco Aliens moved to Los Angeles in 2013. Both Chris and the Disco Aliens celebrated their first releases in 2014 on LA-based record label Wulfpack. Chris continues to elevate his production, hitting Beatport charts by 2020, celebrating his first international release in 2021, and remains a staple in the LA Underground.”
