The pipe organ

The largest pipe organ in the world is located at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. This massive instrument was built by Midmer-Losh Inc. from Merrick, Long Island, New York, and stands as a monumental achievement in the history of musical instruments, surpassing over 2,500 years of instrument development.

Boardwalk Hall proudly houses this colossal organ, which is not only the largest of its kind but also the most powerful musical instrument on the planet. Comprising an astonishing 33,000 pipes, this gigantic organ fills a vast space of 5.5 million cubic feet in the main arena, producing a sound that far exceeds the volume of even the loudest train whistle.

To produce its thunderous tones, the organ relies on 600 electric blowers that push 36,400 cubic feet of air per minute through its pipes, creating wind pressures of up to 100 inches—about 30 times more than a standard organ.

The organ's main console is also record-breaking, featuring over 1,200 stop controls and being the only organ in the world with seven keyboards (manuals).
