2 weeks ago, I went alone to pick up my #26 and graduation cap marquee lights from a previous event. I arrived early, waiting for the venue assistant so I could get in and out before the next party started decorating. The assistant accidentally left her phone at home and had to turn around, so we all ended up outside waiting together.
Once the doors opened, I was grabbing my last marquee number when the next decorator walked in. She was visibly upset and shared that she had been crying all morning because her balloon artist had canceled last minute. Not only was she left without her balloon arch, but also without the onesie-making station she had planned. All she had was a banner to hang, and her event was starting at 2 PM.
The venue worker pointed at me and said, "She's a balloon artist."
At that moment, it was 1:15 PM.
I immediately called my sister Brittney Paez and asked if she could help. Without hesitation, she said, "I'm cleaning, but yes!" Then I called my husband Jacob Aragon and told him to grab pink, white, and yellow balloons and head to the venue. His response? "I'll be there by 1:45."
By 1:45, both Britt and Jacob arrived. We got to work, and by 2:25, this sweet "A Little Lemon Is On The Way" setup was complete. 🍋💛🩷
This wasn't a booked event. There wasn't time to plan. It was simply a mom-to-be who deserved to walk into her baby shower feeling celebrated.
A huge thank you to my sister and husband for dropping everything to help make it happen. This setup was truly a team effort, and I'm so grateful we could turn a stressful situation into a beautiful memory for another family.
