My friend had her baby yesterday.
She texted me those brand-new baby photos…the glow, the exhaustion, the joy….and I was smiling ear to ear.
But then she mentioned something that stopped me cold.
She said a small piece of placenta was stuck, and they had to remove it manually.
And my whole body reacted.
Because I’ve been there.
Twice.
With undiagnosed placenta accreta, manual removal, and a trip to the OR.
I thought I was past it.
But as I read her message, my hands started shaking. Tears came out of nowhere.
It reminded me how sometimes, healing sneaks up on you, even years later.
And it made me think about wedding planning, too.
You can be completely fine one moment, and then something small…a song, a family conversation, a memory…catches you off guard and suddenly your emotions are right there at the surface.
It doesn’t mean you’re dramatic.
It doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
It just means you’re human.
Because wedding planning isn’t just about pretty details, it’s about love, identity, family, and memory.
And sometimes, that’s a lot for one heart to hold.
So if something small knocks the wind out of you this week, take a breath.
You’re not alone.
You’re not broken.
And you’re definitely not doing it wrong. 💛
