I present "Reconquista X" for the "Road to Jerez" Cocktail Competetion
In the year 1264 King Alfonso X launched the Reconquista. Returning the city of Jerez back into Spanish rule, giving it the title "De la Frontera"
In 2014 co-owners Andy Reiger and Ryan Maybee brought back J. Reiger &co. Boasting centuries of history this distillery is in the midst of their own "Reconquista" of the whiskey world.
The "Reconquista X" is a cocktail that explores the feelings, emotions, and taste of the Reconquista.
1.25 ounces of kansas city whiskey.
A beautiful blend of bourbon, rye, and Sherry.
To highlight the wonderful notes in the sherry we added75 ounce of Liquor 43 , a spanish liquor that on its own pairs beautifully with Oloroso Sherry.5 ounces of fresh Blood Orange Juice.
To balance out the flavor of whiskey we add75 ounces Cherry Herring.
2 dashes of aztec Chocolate bitters.
