Amy-Jo Tatum Bridal Couture

Amy-Jo Tatum Bridal Couture Designer of gowns in imported silks and laces I have a residential design studio in Marin County, California offering a gallery of one of a kind bridal gowns.

I've been an indie designer since 1984 specializing in 'retro-modern' looks for brides as close as a mile away and as far off as Auckland and Stockholm. A lover of fashion history, I'm up for the challenge of designing custom pieces for clients who want to participate in the creation of their own design. Creating dresses in mostly 100% silks we can also explore sustainable alternatives. Any dress,

veil or skirt you see in my collection can be made long, short or in-between. Same goes for sleeve length and necklines. Prices for gowns start at $1600.00. Turnaround time for a custom made gown is 8-10 weeks at the soonest and 4-6 months for more intricate designs. From time to time I do offer sample dresses most below 1K. My dresses have been featured on Style Me Pretty, in Ceremony Magazine, Smitten Magazine and Martha Stewart Weddings

I invite you to call or email for an appointment after checking out my sites, press and reviews

Urban wedding fashion lives in a different register than its countryside or suburban counterparts—it’s less about tradition as inheritance and more about tradition as interpretation. A city bride isn’t stepping into a pastoral fantasy; she’s placing herself inside a living, breathing landscape of steel, glass, and motion. https://bridechic.blogspot.com/2026/04/urbanesque.html

Instead of the Veil: Some brides are ditching the veil altogether, topping off with special touches like wide-brimmed hats, fresh flowers, and jewels in their hair. The idea is, if you’d rather wear a feathered toque down the aisle and it works with your gown, go for it. https://bridechic.blogspot.com/2026/05/instead-of-veil.html

Coming up this month on The Fabric Edit: Brocade
In bridal and formal wear, brocade has always occupied a particular space. It is inherently structured, lending itself to garments that rely on shape rather than drape.

The “fashionista” veil has been trending over the past couple of decades. Once upon a time considered out of the ordinary outside casual or city hall weddings, these small veils have now appeared paired up with every bridal look, flouting tradition.
