To clear up some confusion!!
Yes, at the beginning of every year we try and plan and post our event schedule on our website, HOWEVER, these are not concrete days. We initially posted on our website (which may I add I do not have the time to update at the moment), this year we would have a Taco Fest at our spot and plan a big grand opening. I overlooked the fact that our website said Block Party, Taco Fest at Reynas. I have since taken down that page, realizing its not correct information and apologize for the miscommunication.
Our Facebook is our primary communication tool with the public and since we hadn't mentioned to anyone dates on either our grand opening or our yearly Dia De Los Muertos...because we still had not begun or started planning anything for these days, we assumed everyone knew they were cancelled.
This weekend, a friend of our family, VERY CLOSE FRIENDS... have a daughter turning 21, and asked if their band (Evoluzion) to which my brother in law is the singer, could play for their daughters party and have it at our house/Reynas. We said YES of course!! and they are offering to play a free concert for our dine in guests, why would we refuse that. Especially since, we have just started to settle in, and times are tough!
We also thought - what a coincedence its Mexican Indepence Day!! Diez y Sies de Septiembre!! So I made a cute flyer honoring the Birthday Girl, and invited the public to have some tacos. 🙂 That is our plan. Nothing like a FESTIVAL - Please also, we will not be CLOSING the street, and have never advertised that we would. We have also turned down multiple vendor requests - in light of this being just a small celebration within our backyard for guests (and our family) to enjoy.
We want to make sure all of our customers are aware of our Saturday plans at Reynas Tacos. We open at 6pm, the music will start at 8pm, and end no later than 9:30pm - but we stay open to sell tacos until 10pm. We want to be courteous to our neighbors, please use our parking lot access, given by our friends at Texas Trust, at the Twohig entrance. There are lots of spaces, and our back gate will be open for you to safely enter and order from the taco truck, then sit and enjoy the music with your meal.
It's been a concern at the Law Office down the street to maintain 24 hour access, as they should, so please DO NOT PARK in any private drives or lots on Concho. We have streetside parking available, 2 spaces in our private driveway, and PLENTY of spots at Texas Trust. Also, remember to keep that lot clean. We will have a trash can outside our gate for you to put any left over trash before you drive home.
We hope this clears things up. We hope to have larger events next year when we are in a better situation with Reynas, but for now, we love to invite and enjoy this weather with our friends and community. Sorry for any confusion once again,
- La Familia Reyna
