What started as a volunteer event to make art more inviting and accessible to all has turned into Utah's largest outdoor multidisciplinary event where we share more art than ever. BANDALOOP's artistic director, Melecio Estrella, tells Fest fans why he's excited to celebrate our 50th anniversary!

BANDALOOP first headlined the Utah Arts Festival in 2005 and has returned multiple times since—each performance a jaw-dropping moment we still talk about. Now they're back for a special reunion to commemorate the Festival's 50th anniversary.

For over 34 years, BANDALOOP has performed at more than 300 locations worldwide from skyscrapers in Shanghai to natural rock formations. But the Salt Lake City Main Library holds a special place in their performance history. Watch as they share what's in store for our 50th anniversary celebration.

All-styles street dance battle where the crowd decides the winner. Hip-hop, house, locking, popping - show us what you've got.

Sunday, June 21
Rep Your Set Choreo Competition
Local choreographers showcase their creations with hip-hop, contemporary, salsa, reggaeton, afro, popping, heels and more. Year two of this incredible showcase feat. dancers from across Utah.

The Round will also feature cultural dancers, literary arts performers and more! Thank you to 1520 Arts for being a long-time Festival partner and bringing together some of the most talented local dancers and artists.

Volunteer shifts are officially open! Whether you want to help build the Festival, pour drinks, park bikes, host artists, or help tear down- there's a spot for you. Grab some friends, make new ones, and be part of the team that brings this whole thing to life.

This is how we're kicking off our 50th anniversary - with a group that defined an era and never stopped evolving. Thursday night now belongs to hip-hop royalty, Digable Planets!

Digable Planets burst onto the scene in 1993 with their Grammy-winning "Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" and pioneered a style of jazz-informed hip-hop that still sounds fresh today. More than 30 years later, their music still shines and their live show is legendary.

Headlining Thursday, June 18 @ 9:30pm on the Festival Stage

General admission gets you in. You'll see the headliners, explore 170+ artist booths, catch 100+ performances, and experience everything the Festival offers.
