Amateurs everywhere are confused as to the difference between the members of the PGA of America and the members of the PGA Tour. When a PGA professional is introduced to an amateur for the first time, the amateurs initial thought is one of wonder, wondering when this person played on the tour. Let us try to eliminate this confusion. The members of the PGA Tour, Senior Tour and LPGA Tour as well as

a variety of mini-tours are professional golfers, making their living by playing the game competitively. The members and apprentices of the PGA of America are the people who run and manage the golf industry on a day-to-day basis by using their expertise in the industry to run facilities, teach, and in general, be a leader in the golf industry.

Following an opening-round 65 (-7) at the 10th annual Larry H. Miller Utah Women’s Open, mini-tour professional Ali Mulhall credited her ball striking after taking the day-one lead. “I hit the ball really well and gave myself great opportunities for birdies all day. The Larry H. Miller Utah Open returns to Riverside Country Club in Provo Aug. 14–16 for the championship’s 100th year, and the Larry H. Miller Utah Women’s Open takes place Aug. 3–4 at TalonsCove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

The tournaments will bring together top professional and amateur golfers from Utah and beyond to compete in two of the state’s premier golf championships. In partnership with the Utah Section PGA, the Larry H. Miller Company is proud to help carry forward one of Utah’s great sports traditions.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The opening round of the 2026 Dan Roskelley Utah Senior Open concluded Wednesday evening with a celebration honoring Dan Roskelley for his decades of service to the game as a PGA Professional, Utah State University golf coach and teacher. Family, friends and members of Utah’s golf community gathered to recognize one of the state’s most respected ambassadors of the game. Joining the celebration were Utah PGA President Craig Norman, Honorary President Jeff John, former PGA TOUR champion Jay Don Blake and evening emcee Wesley Ruff. Congratulations, Dan, on a well-deserved honor.
