Do angels have birthdays?
One of the biggest fears mom who experience the loss of a child have is that their child will be forgotten; that the ache in their heart will be remembered by her alone; that her child didn’t make a difference in the world.
To all of those moms, I say - Your child is noticed. Your child matters. Your child has made a difference and will not be forgotten.
Today would have been Baby Ben’s first birthday. So today I made him a cake. And I sang Happy Birthday and blew out a candle. I hope angels get to celebrate birthdays in heaven. And to his amazing mom, please know that I will never forget him. ❤️

Happy Mother's Day! To all of the mothers who are in the thick of late night feedings, diaper changes, and no sleep - thank you for your sacrifices. To the mothers who are in the heart of toddler tantrums, sticky fingers, and endless jabbering stories - thank you for your patience. To the mothers whose arms and hearts are aching to hold their child who is no longer with you - I see you and I am praying for you. You are one day closer to holding your angel baby again.

I put on my old scrubs today so I could go talk to the preschoolers about what it means to be a nurse. To put it simply, nurses are all about healing. It was a weird rush of emotions to leave the house in scrubs again. For a long time after leaving my nursing role in the hospital, I had to work on redefining who I was. If I wasn’t a nurse, what was I? What was my purpose? Today, I am grateful to know that I am still a nurse. My goal is still healing. My tools are no longer stethoscopes and bandages, but a camera and an album that provides my “patients” healing photos of the newborn they have had to say goodbye to. So, yes - I am a photographer, but I will always be a nurse.

A Wishful Heart album is headed to its family first thing tomorrow morning. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, please know how very much I appreciate and value the support of my amazing clients, friends, and family - every single one of you are key pieces to the evolving puzzle of providing Wishful Heart Sessions to Mothers in our community who are suffering from an aching heart. I hope everyone will hug their own children a little tighter this weekend - and the moms to the angel children will feel of their presence with even more surety.

It also has a very detailed and beautiful preparation guide, and full pricing menu included...basically everything you need to prepare for a fabulous session together.

Things have been B.U.S.Y in the studio this month. I think all the babies decided to come in the same two weeks of October.
