Let's pick the Pickle! What a great way to get some love and investments down in our 'hood. Please vote!

We love seeing the opportunity of space for creatives! Salt Lake City has been selected for the Partners in Preservation grant competition! $150,000 is up for grabs, which will be used to restore the Utah Pickle Factory in the The Granary District.

To win, we need YOU to VOTE! You can vote up to five time per day, every day, at voteyourmainstreet.org. Vote early, vote often, voting end on October 31st.

If Salt Lake were to get this grant, the Utah Pickle Co building will be restored and redesigned along with the adjacent Hide building, a 1.5-acre epicenter will serve creative minds, independent artists, and inspired locals looking for a space to gather, work, and celebrate.

Free posts in concrete footings! First come, first serve! It says you need to take the post AND footing if you're interested.

We also have about 21 4"x4"x12' posts in concrete footings. We'd like to see these go to a good home too.

If anyone's interested, you can pick them up tomorrow. The only requirement is that you have to get the post and footing together and haul away and they're HEAVY.

Pie-n-beer day tonight at !!

Utah celebrates it's heritage on July 24th every year with Pioneer Day, which includes a huge parade, rodeo, fireworks and old times festivities. As an alternative, local pubs and breweries started Pie and Beer Day, which is celebrated as simply as it sounds. Join us tomorrow night with pies from and beer from .

There's a pie eating contest at 8pm, so if you know someone who can take down a pie in record time, tag them! For everyone not local, join us by having your own backyard pie and beer celebration this weekend!

With all of the good things and momentum happening in the neighborhood, we need to remember to be safe and lookout for one another.

It's sad we have to share this story of this serious crime, but glad to know the victim is recovering and the perpetrator was caught.
