ITS OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY THIS WEEK!! Please join us to celebrate at our POP UP and GIVEAWAY on Saturday June 26th from 10-2 pm. Our friends and will be joining us.

I never thought that Blooms & Co last 10 years when I first started the shop, I hoped to make it past One, I had no idea what I was doing 😅. To survive the pandemic and to reach the mile mark of 10 years has me feeling so grateful and humbled! Without loyal customers like you, I never could have done it. I am grateful that you come back time after time and that you share your life milestones with us.

A few years ago I was asked to do the flowers for a wake and celebration of life for a young man that went too soon. I delivered the casket spray at the same time that his mom was seeing him for the first time before the service. I was honored to be there in that quiet, sacred moment. We were alone in the chapel and we hugged for a long time. I then realized the weight of what this title “Florist” carries.

During the start of the pandemic I worked alone and did all the designs and did the delivery in the afternoon. I was greeted on doorsteps with more tears than I’ve ever experienced. Seeing flowers carry the connection and love that we all so desperately missed was so moving and touching. It truly reminded me how much I love what we do.

A couple weeks ago we did a wedding for a couple that made everything about the wedding personal to who their are together. Their reaction to the flowers reminded me that the flowers we create for wedding day are so special. It’s the day new families are created and love is celebrated.

I have met the MOST INCREDIBLE women during the shop’s existence. Artists, business owners, mentors, wedding industry leaders, stylists, bakers and entrepreneurs. To rub shoulders with women that are chasing their dreams and elevating one another at the same time is a cherished opportunity.

It’s Mother’s Day week and If I’m honest, I have been dragging my feet to get ready for what a big, BIG week Mother’s Day week is.
My dad was in an accident a couple weeks ago and has made our reality as a family a bit different. Priorities have shifted, Juggling the shop, up coming wedding season and driving back and forth to St George has my mind in a bit different space this year.
But then tonight I went to check on my parents house, and do you know what I saw? I saw family photos, photos of the grandkids, all the alphabet pillows my mom sewed in the kids reading room, notes in my Dad’s den from people he has helped. I saw the life my parents have created for us. I saw what family is and can be. I saw a home that has been filled with life events for the past 30 years.
I saw this house I know so well in a whole new light. I felt immense gratitude for this space that my parents have cultivated for us. Im so grateful that my dad is on the road to recovery and will come back to fill the space with more memories.
That’s what family does, It rally’s and over comes.
So this year, Mother’s Day doesn’t look perfect for my family and it might not look perfect for yours. It might bring up a lot of feelings or heart ache and you know what, I feel ya. But guess what can cure a sad and tired heart? Service. Acts of kindness. Gifts of love and beauty that remind someone they are important. And that’s the business what we are in. Today I was reminded of that. It’s not just “work” that we do. We help people send their love to those they are rallying around and for.
So this year for Mother’s Day it is my wish that we all look for ways to serve those that have provided us with life, that have created homes for us, that have nurtured us and given us safe spaces to be ourselves. That have taught us, supported and lifted us, that have cried for us and with us. Let’s show them that we are grateful for them, their selflessness and their resilience. So do me a favor and look for someone you can send some love to this weekend and If you need some help, let us make some flowers for you.

Guys. We made it, we survived and we even learned a whole bunch of great things along the way. We learned that we have THE BEST community and clients. Like the BEST ! We could not have survived this year (or any year obvi) without you lovely people.
We learned that creativity and flowers truly heals hearts, bring people to tears on their doorsteps and bring joy to souls.
In the midst of hardship we have watched people send concern and love, we have listened to their stories over the phone, we have written their cards, we have felt the love with each and every bouquet.
We have learned that you all LOVE TO LEARN! We learned that flower classes should be done more often! We will roll out monthly virtual classes soon to accommodate more floral design learning. It’s meditative and healing, we hope you’ll try your hand in 2021
We’ve learned our community is resilient. We’ve seen you all donate more this year, create drives, organize fundraisers, we’ve seen you all do so much good. We’ve seen you rally behind small business like never before and we love it!
We’ve learned that flowers bring people together even when they are apart due to distance and pandemics. The human spirit is pretty remarkable and we consider ourselves lucky to be a part of all of your efforts to buoy each other up in this wild time.
So cheers to 2020 behind us, we can take a breath and I know we can handle anything. I welcome a fresh chapter as we are approaching our 10th year of business with all of you lovely people. Happy New Year!
