Tyler Elliot can produce a wide range of events from corporate events, client and team meetings, special occasions, social gatherings, & fundraisers. As an event planner in Salt Lake City, I am fortunate with the amount of diverse venues available. As a transplant of this wonderful city, I've had the pleasure of exploring and discovering endless possibilities for your event. My ultimate goal is to

provide you with the highest level of service and creativity. With thirteen years of event planning experience, I am very intuitive with the timing, flow, and aesthetics of any event. I will create a precise time-line to ensure that every detail, big or small is not forgotten. I will work closely with vendors so that your vision is not compromised and that you receive all your wishes. By instilling your trust in me, you can spend your time enjoying the process, with the ability to oversee the progress without the stress and hassle of managing every detail. My objective is that every event flows well, allowing you to enjoy your event and spend time with your guests. I have planned and executed hundreds of events. Some being very small; and others extremely large. The planning process can vary a few months upwards to a year depending on the magnitude. The budgets to plan and execute events vary as well from a few thousand to a high of fifty. Each event presents itself with unique and distinctive challenges. The ability to think quickly and problem solve is essential to maintaining the integrity of any event. The main goal for any event planner is to ensure a problem free event. However, in reality that is often not the case. However, my event planning experience has allowed me the knowledge and expertise to navigate and resolve any problem that may arise.

What makes an event a success? In my opinion, success comes down to the “soft” details. You can design the most amazing event with a fabulous venue, divine food, superb company, but if the “soft” details are lacking, all of that is a waste.

What I mean by “soft” details is everything in between the key features of an event. It includes all of the logistical and flow elements. If you handle the “soft” details correctly the guests will remember everything you worked so hard on planning. They will walk away recalling the amazing speeches, beautiful performance, fantastic food/drink, and wonderful company. However, if you do not, guests will remember that they drove around for 30 minutes trying to find the venue; that they had to ask where the bathrooms were; that you had to re-write their nametag because it was misspelled; this list goes on and on. All that hard work and planning gone in an instance. So maybe you’re asking if you could recover. Perhaps. But these are the details your guests will remember.

Tip: Guests want an experience; they don’t want to have to think of all of the particulars.

How can you plan effective events year after year?

Step 1- Why are you having this event?

In the beginning stages of planning an event always identify your audience and purpose. Verbalize it, write it down, and make sure it is very clear. The excuse “we’ve always done it” doesn’t hold water and is a waste of time if it doesn’t benefit you or the organization. It is instrumental to the success of your events to ask this question every time.

Step 2 – How will I measure the success of this event?

There are many tangible ways to measure the success of an event, especially if you followed the first step. Plan and carefully execute how it will be captured. It could be the number of new contacts, money raised, guests that attended, whatever your goal was initially.

Step 3- De-brief

This is a must, do not skip this step. Make sure to include all people involved in the planning and ex*****on.

Come prepared to ask the hard questions.

Execute it better next time.
