I met Sammy at Sundance Film Festival 6 years ago, right after he was kicked off Main Street for playing without a permit.. Sammy was standing outside of the Indie Lounge with guitar case & money box in hand and I asked the young lad (11 yrs old) so can you play or you just holding that guitar for someone? With conviction Sammy said "I play and I light up that room." I had him follow me to stage and I adjusted the mic stand and Sammy cleared his voice and announce to the crowd " I am Sammy Brue and I sing the blues." Sammy light up that room and it's been a pleasure watching his zest for life through music grow.
