Medalist Monday - This week we relive the moment Chance Howard captured his first gold in the steer wrestling after stopping the clock in 4.1 seconds. Howard, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma outdistanced world champion Tyler Waguespack of Gonzales, Louisiana who had a 4.1. Marc Joiner took the bronze with a 4.7-second run.

The win propelled Chance to his first Wrangler NFR where he finished the 2025 season ranked 13th!

We wanted you to keep in mind our vendors that will be at the Utah Days of '47 Rodeo - buy for those on your list or find something for yourself. Ride a sheep. Have a chance to win a mini-Chevy truck! Sound like something your 3-6 year old might like to do? We are currently taking registrations for the Utah Mutton Busting Championships on July 18. Up to 75 participants will take a ride on the wild side in hopes of being one of the top 40 to earn a spot to ride again during one of the rodeo performances July 21-25 with a chance to win the mini-Chevy!

Meet Berklee Phillips a proud member of the Utah Cowgirl Collective. Berklee is from Cedar City, Utah and is currently pursuing a degree in construction management at Southern Utah University. Her family owns a concrete business and she plans to continue the family business upon graduation. This week's Medalist Monday is bull rider Hayes Weight of Goshen, UT. In 2025, he saved the best for last in front of the home state crowd setting a new arena record with a 93-point ride aboard Sankey Rodeo’s Magic Touch. Ironically enough the cowboy rode the same bull in 2024 in the semifinal round for 91 to tie the arena record at the time.

In 2024 Weight, despite being bucked off in the gold medal round, still won bronze thanks to that 91-point ride. He left no doubt in 2025 as he got the gold and got the crowd rocking the stadium.

Did you know the Frontier Fun Zone is free to the public at the Utah Days of '47 Rodeo with gates opening at 5 p.m.

Come see the:
- Pioneer Encampment - where you can experience life the way the Pioneers lived

- The Native American Encampment - complete with teepees and tribal dancing

- The Charro Encampment - learn about the Mexican horseman culture and see them perform their roping skills.

All located inside the KSL Expo tent along with numerous vendors. Come early and partake in the full fan experience.
