Being a DJ is more than just playing music. Here’s 3 things I’ve learned over the past five years as I’ve been building my DJ business :

1. You don’t know what you don’t know seek for help and don’t be embarrassed to do so. I recommend hiring a business coach.

2. it’s not about who you know but also about who knows you. As you’re building a business, it is just as important to build community. Support others and cheer for them. You would want the same for you. Building a business is Not easy.

3. Promote yourself. There are many DJs around the world who are very good and could be more skilled than you. But that doesnt mean the market knows them though. Show up often because people are looking for your service, They are just waiting to find you.
