We want a Rowan County with even more of the Arts!
Rowan Arts Council is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through September 7th, 2026.
Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop arts programming in Rowan County, municipalities facilitating public art projects, and schools for extracurricular art activities. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals, etc), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Subgrants may not be awarded to arts organizations that already receive operating support directly from the N.C. Arts Council. Projects must occur between July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.
Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the Rowan Arts Council website at www.rowancreates.com
Rowan Arts Council will also mail applications and guidelines upon request. Applications must be received no later than September 7th, 2026.
Rowan Arts Council is also hosting a Grassroots Arts Program subgrant workshop to assist interested applicants in preparing competitive grants on August 12th at 9:30 a.m. at the Dolls, Toys, and Miniatures Museum in Spencer, NC. New applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Grant applications are evaluated by a diverse panel of community members with awards being announced in October each year.
