This is what happens when you stop asking “what should we do?” and start asking “what do we want to feel?”

The answer, for Casey & Nathan, was everything. 💙

These two proved that when you’re intentional about your love, you get to celebrate it exactly how it feels.

For them, that meant beginning their day with a sunrise first look in the San Juan Mountains and ending it with their favorite people cheering them on at sunset.

Their Ouray elopement unfolded in two perfect acts: a quiet morning exchanging private vows beside an alpine lake—just them, the mountains, and forever—followed by an adventure-filled afternoon where they loaded up the Jeep with their crew and said “I do” in one the most magical scenes I’ve witnessed this summer.

Here’s what they understood that so many couples miss: your wedding day doesn’t have to be about choosing one thing over the other.

It can be both intimate and inclusive, adventurous and rooted in tradition. You don’t have to pick between just-the-two-of-you and everyone-you-love.

Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is have it all—on your terms.

From the Switzerland of America to the coziest courtyard celebration, Casey & Nathan crafted a day that felt like the truest expression of their story. No compromises, no settling.

Just two people who knew what their love deserved, and weren’t afraid to create it. ✨

Sometimes the most perfect wedding is the one that's just for you two ✨

Sofia and Matt reached out to me a year ago after planning - and canceling - two traditional weddings. They were exhausted from all the stress and finally said, "enough." Instead, they packed their bags, left Chicago behind, and eloped in the Colorado mountains.

Best decision ever.

Their day started at a cozy mountain Airbnb, where they got ready separately, then shared their first look right outside. Just them, the crisp mountain air, and pure joy on their faces.

Then we loaded up the 4x4 and started our adventure. We climbed mountains, hiked past waterfalls, wandered through fields of wildflowers that looked like something out of a dream.

When we couldn’t drive any further, we hiked. When they needed to change back into their wedding clothes on a mountainside? We made it work.

Surrounded by the glow of an insane turquoise alpine lake (seriously, the color was unreal), they shared emotional vows before tying a unity knot with rope, signing their marriage license with Mother Nature as their witness, and soaking in those incredible mountain views.

They ended the night under the stars around a bonfire, with cold beers in hand planning their next adventure. 🍻🔥

This was a 16-hour, 2-day elopement that ended with all three of us conquering the Ouray via ferrata together. Honestly, one of my favorites this year because it was so completely, authentically THEM. 😁

As these two badasses so effortlessly made clear: Sometimes you have to cancel the big wedding to find your perfect day 💙

Sofia + Matt, thank you SO much for trusting me with your day and inviting me to join you on this most epic adventure. 🫶 Same time next year? 😉

What if your wedding day wasn’t about tradition, but about intention? 🤗🥰

About chasing a feeling instead of following a rulebook.

Maegann & Austin chose the kind of day that makes your soul exhale.✨

They took a 4x4 deep into the Colorado mountains, got ready separately, and met in a sunlit meadow for their first look; just the two of them, fully present and completely in the moment. 🌾💛

From there, they trekked hand in hand along wildlflower lined trails, exchanged handwritten vows by a quiet alpine lake, popped champagne to celebrate their forever, and ended the night stargazing beside a cozy fire, wrapped in blankets and love. 💕

Their day was more than beautiful; it was theirs. Intentional. Recharging. Full of meaning. It was a celebration of who they are and how they love.

This is what becomes possible when you let go of “supposed to” and make space for what’s real. 🙌

Remember, YOUR wedding day, should feel like your favorite adventure. 🌲😍 And if you need help bringing that vision to life, I’m happy to help! 🙃

There’s just something about summer in Colorado.
Wildflowers bloom in full color, alpine lakes finally thaw, and the mountain air feels lighter, like anything is possible.

Every season here has its own kind of magic, but summer? It brings a sense of freedom that’s hard to describe. And for Lindsey and Brandon, that freedom meant turning their entire wedding day into a full-on adventure.

They started before sunrise, hiking to a quiet alpine lake where they got ready together, shared a first look, and exchanged vows—just the two of them, tucked away in their own little corner of paradise.

But their day didn’t stop there. After a heartfelt ceremony filled with laughter and happy tears, they enjoyed their favorite energy drinks. The early morning wakeup call tuckered them out, so after a hike they enjoyed a long mid-day nap back at their AirBNB. Now that's what I call a stress free wedding day! After feeling revived they got back in their wedding attire and met their loved ones beside a serene lake at nearly 12,000 feet. This time, with their favorite people there to witness it all.

Once the license was signed and bottles were popped, we spent the rest of the golden daylight exploring Loveland Pass, chasing mountain light, and savoring the kind of quiet moments that felt intentional and completely theirs.

They wrapped up their day back with their people—sharing a chef-prepared meal, raising glasses in emotional toasts, soaking up all the joy and gratitude, and ending the night by the fire under the stars.

This is what an elopement can look like.
Unrushed. Unfiltered. Unforgettable.

Can you believe this was their backup ceremony spot? 🤯

Just a few days before Alli and Duston were supposed to elope, the 4x4 road to their original location was closed. I got to work right away, created a new timeline, and found a new place for them to say their vows.

And honestly? It turned out even more magical than the original plan ✨

We ended up high in the mountains above Silverton, Colorado—nearly 12,000 feet up—where snow still clung to the peaks, even in late June.

This time of year in the San Juans is one of my favorites. There’s something unreal about being surrounded by that kind of stillness and wild beauty.

Usually, you can drive right up to this alpine lake with a 4x4, but a massive snowdrift blocked the road. So we hiked the rest of the way in, and on the way back, we even had to butt-slide through the snow to get to the cars! 😂 Totally worth it.

It’s elopements like these that remind me: when you’re open to a little adventure and willing to pivot, the backup plan can end up being better than anything you imagined.

Sometimes the best views only come when the road gets a little bumpy.

Some love stories are meant to unfold where the mountains meet the sky, and Madeline and Zac’s day in Telluride was nothing short of unforgettable. 🏔️💫

They hiked side by side through alpine trails, shared private vows in front of a roaring waterfall, and then met their loved ones next to an alpine lake to say “I do.” There were happy tears, champagne toasts, and even a little fishing to round out the afternoon. And as the sun dipped behind the San Juans, they ended the night with lanterns in hand, soaking in those first quiet moments as husband and wife.

This is what eloping in Telluride can look like: part epic adventure, part heartfelt celebration. A day where the only “rule” is to be present, be yourselves, and let the mountains witness your love.

Here’s to moments that feel like magic, and places that feel like home. ✨

Some call it crazy—hiking 11,000 feet to an alpine lake just to slip into wedding attire and exchange vows on the Continental Divide.

But for Stefanie & Mark, it was everything they dreamed of. ✨

This is what I love most about elopements: there are no rules.
Just two people choosing exactly how they want to say “I do”, whether that’s on a mountaintop, next to an alpine lake, or anywhere else their adventurous hearts lead them.

In less than a month, I’ll hit my 5-year milestone of capturing love stories in the wild as my full-time dream job. And honestly? Moments like these still take my breath away. Every single time.

There’s something about witnessing love in its rawest, most intentional form that never gets old. These two didn’t just get married, they created an experience that was 100% them.

What’s your dream “I do” moment? Mountains? Beach? Waterfall? I’m here for ALL of it 🏔️💕

They’d been married for years, but their hearts kept calling them back to Colorado, to have a wedding day that truly felt like them.

So Lola and Andrew packed up, hopped in a Jeep, left the expectations behind, and headed deep into the Colorado backcountry to renew their vows; just the two of them and the mountains.

We drove an hour into the backcountry outside Crested Butte to a place where snow still clung to the trail, and not a single other soul was in sight. They changed into their wedding attire with views that’ll take your breath away, surrounded by nothing but alpine peaks and the hum of the wind. ✨

The best thing about this location? The variety of landscapes—everywhere you look, there’s a new alpine basin to take in.

As the sun dipped low, they read their vows in total solitude—words meant only for each other and the wilderness that witnessed their love. No distractions. No pressure. Not even a single other human. Just tears, laughter, and that “holy sh*t, this is perfect” energy that makes you forget about everything else.

Then they popped champagne, and we set up the coziest little campfire picnic. (Shoutout to my camp stove for powering pasta at 12,000 feet!)

There were lanterns, sweets, snuggles, and a fire that kept them warm as the stars came out. Their wedding day sidekick (me!) brought the vibes, and they just got to be.

And because Andrew (the groom) works at NASA, we planned it all around the new moon so they could end the night under a pitch-black sky full of stars, with Milky Way photos they’ll never forget.

This is what elopements can be. Or vow renewals. Or intimate celebrations just for you and your favorite people.

There’s a reason I fell in love with photographing elopements, and it goes far beyond the stunning views, the badass adventures, or epic locations (though those are amazing, too).

I do what I do because I believe every couple deserves a wedding day that feels like them. A day that honors your love in the most honest, meaningful way—not based on what’s expected, but on what truly matters to ✨you✨.

Take Amy and Bobby’s elopement adventure in Ouray. Their day was quiet, intimate, breathtaking, and full of intention. ❤️

They moved through their day slowly, choosing connection over pressure, presence over performance.

For them, all they needed was each other, their sweet pup, and the stillness of the mountains. As a result, they had a stress-free day, filled with the kind of unfiltered joy that comes from choosing your version of perfect. 🙌

This is the kind of experience I want for every couple I work with. A wedding day that reflects who you are, what you love, and gives you space to slow down and truly feel it all.

So if you’re craving something quieter, something deeper, just know it’s possible. You don’t need the noise to have a beautiful beginning.

You just need each other. I’ll help you take care of the rest. 💕

What if your elopement didn’t require hiking boots at all? 😏 What if it looked like gondola rides, a walk down the aisle, and a lakeside vow exchange instead? 🤗

Kelly and Jacob didn’t hike a single mile on their wedding day. Instead, they moved with intention, starting slow and present, surrounded by the people who shaped their hearts.

They traveled by gondola to their ceremony site, but the ride didn’t just carry them higher in elevation; it brought them to a place where Colorado’s peaks stood witness to something deeper than vows. Every guest was chosen with purpose. Every sweet and magical moment savored.

When their intimate ceremony ended, they kept the adventure going. Just the two of them.

They hopped on the gondola, jumped in their jeep, and headed down to the lake, where they shared their hearts in the stillness of the mountains.

Kelly and Jacob’s day is proof: you don’t need to hike for miles to have an unforgettable elopement experience.
If you’ve been worried that eloping means long trails and steep climbs, take a deep breath, and know that you’ve got options!

And what’s even better? I’m here to show you what’s possible! Together, let’s create something that matches your pace and still gets you those epic views. What do you say?

📍Gondolas, Jeeps, 5-minute trails, all on the table.

So, how would you travel on your elopement day? Let me know below!

Celene & Alex’s 2-day Colorado adventure session has me feeling all the feels! 💕

These two were already married but hired me because they wanted that intimate elopement experience—you know, the part where it’s just you two, epic landscapes, and pure adventure—while still planning their big wedding celebration next year.

Day one took us through Crested Butte’s stunning alpine scenery, and day two we explored the magical Grand Mesa National Forest near their home. Watching them discover new places in their own backyard while celebrating their love was absolutely incredible.

I can’t tell you how many couples have told me they’re struggling with this exact decision - they love the idea of just the two of them on a mountaintop somewhere, but they also can’t picture their wedding day without their mom crying happy tears or their best friends on the dance floor. It’s such a real struggle! Adventure sessions let you have that quiet, intimate moment together in these incredible places, and then you still get to party with everyone you love later.

Honestly, seeing couples realize they don’t have to pick just one way to celebrate their love never gets old 🌲✨

Share this with someone who needs to see that they can have both! 💕”

Want the mountains all to yourself? Here’s why weekday elopements are your golden ticket ⬇️ ☀️✨

Colorado is breathtaking, but that’s no secret. It’s why our most accessible elopement spots can get packed on weekends, especially during peak seasons. I’ve personally sat in 10-mile mountain traffic jams just because of the golden Aspen leaves 🍂 (yes, Kenosha Pass gets that wild).

But weekdays? They offer something truly special: a more intimate experience, fewer crowds, more flexibility, and the chance to soak it all in without distractions.

That’s exactly why Hannah and Eli chose to elope on a weekday in late June.

They spent the afternoon into evening (2:30PM to 9:30PM) completely wrapped up in their own world. It felt like Mother Nature had closed off Crested Butte just for them. They crossed rivers and alpine lakes, laughed and cried, cast a line in the most serene lake, danced beneath the summer sky, watched the sun slip behind the peaks, chugged champagne straight from the bottle, cuddled close, and got their boots and wedding dress deliciously dirty on the trail.

They focused on what mattered most: each other.
And that is the beauty of a weekday elopement — quiet moments, wide open views, and the freedom to be fully present.

📅 Can’t swing a weekday? No problem.
There are still ways to carve out your own slice of solitude:
💬 Chat with your photographer (hi, that’s me 🤍) about hidden gems and timing
📞 Call the local National Forest office for real-time updates on traffic and permits
🌄 Consider a sunrise ceremony — peaceful, private, and magical

Every couple deserves a day that feels like them. That’s why I guide all my couples through these decisions so your elopement feels intentional, unrushed, and 100% true to you 💛
