Our public Burlesque class starts again January 16th! 🎊 Bring in the New Year by honoring your body and sensuality! Are you intrigued but just not sure what to expect? Let's pull the curtain back for a minute and give ya a preview 🥸
There are no expectations to look/be a certain way or to be a great dancer! An assortment of personalities, body types, and skill levels participate. You can wear leggings, or you can wear fishnets and heels 👠 Whatever makes ya feel good!
Over the years, Monarch Madams has grown to have a unique public class model that prioritizes self-love practices while teaching technique and burlesque flair. Having a self-love focus creates a confident foundation that paves the way to comfortably express sensuality. These practices promote replacing negative thoughts with self-love and channeling your individual empowering burlesque persona. Our core principles are to honor, appreciate, and embrace the skin we're in! 🤗
A weekly class typically goes as follows:
• People chat before class starts while some change into burlesque attire if that's their thing 👯♀️
• At class time we circle up to introduce ourselves and provide an open floor to share how we feel (if you want), including what each person is needing from the class that night 💞 Once everyone is acquainted, we get moving!
• Warm-up begins. We stretch and practice moving different parts of our body to learn coordination and control 🐙
• Next, we do self-love practices that incorporate dance. We also do fun group dance exercises to laugh and connect ✨️
• After this, we learn dance technique and burlesque choreography that emphasizes sensual expression 🫦
• We close the class by circling up to stretch and share our experience of class 🫶
If your age is between 21-100, come dip your toe in... and any other body part you choose 😉
