I had the immense privilege of photographing this beautiful young lady and her husband for some fun maternity photos. I don't usually like maternity photos, but we were able to put together a vision and create some beautiful photos. I am planning to feature some of their photos this week.

I particularly loved this photos as she was uncomfortable being so close to her due date, but we were able to coax a real smile out of her and make this lovely flower photo!

Ok, not a photo of me, but still a share. This cat was in the cat and capybara cafe I visited. It was absolutely beautiful with its pure white coat and green eyes. Beautiful but aloof. It made me think of how some people tell me I am perceived in life...as intimidating and confident. Well, you get to be in on the secret, that is not how I am trying to be, just how it comes across. Inside, I am awkward, say things that don't sound like what I mean, and in general a little lonely. So, if I say something weird, please give me the benefit of the doubt...I really just want to be friends but am not sure how...kind of like this cat, who wanted to be where the food and people were, but didn't want to approach anyone.

Thanks again for this week, the birthday wishes, and the little joys shared. I hope you feel like you know me a little better! Now back to our regularly scheduled cat funnies, beautiful scenery, and memories preserved in portrait form!

One more for this week as I finish out my birthday celebration, this is me meeting Caesar the No Drama Llama. This was awhile back, but I saw him at the Octoberfest and he actually approached me to pet him and give him a hug. I think he remembered me and it was sweet. I absolutely love animals of most kinds (sorry mosquitos...just can't do it lol), and when animals love me back that is such a joy to my heart! What will always put a smile on your face? Thanks for coming along with me this week as I showed you a bit more of myself.

Spending a week in front of the camera is not something I typically like to do, but here I am as I celebrate my birthday week. This is me kayaking near an old tunnel that has been closed off. You can see some strange things on the water here in Oregon!

Today I share that I find a sense of accomplishment in adventures. Finding new places, having new experiences...in the company of my hubby or family of course! There is just something wonderous about exploring and experiencing life through new things (or at least new to me things as this tunnel was quite old). What makes you feel accomplished?

As it is my birthday week, I find myself contemplative...of life, of purpose, and of what I want to be if I grow up, because if I haven't grown up by now...lol. I know we all search for purpose in life, I just always thought I would be closer to finding mine by now. I would say it is strange how birthdays make us contemplative, but I am really not surprised. I pray that you have a sense of purpose, and that is brings you joy.

Sitting in a room of Team Labs Borderless in Tokyo, enjoying the beautiful colors and fun interactive art exhibit. I really enjoyed exploring this exhibit with my family while we were there. This was my favorite room, as it looked like we were interacting with a waterfall. Very much loved this experience!

Today I share that I have a love/not love relationship with water. I love streams and running water, even lakes. Maybe it is a fresh water thing, as most fresh water gives me a sense of peace. The ocean has the opposite affect. When I look at the ocean, I can see beauty, but I feel sadness, coldness, and discontent. I don't know why, it has just been that way ever since I can remember. It doesn't stop me from visiting the ocean, it just isn't as nice as being near a stream or lake for me. What about you, is there something in your life that most people find joyous and you find not?

Well, I don't have many photos of me, but here is one of me with a capybara in Japan. Today is my birthday, so happy birthday to me! Here is to another 17 years of photographic fun! I hope you will come along this week with me and learn a little more about your photographer! Today I share that I love Japan. The culture, the language, the respectful nature...the food! Japan is a place I hope to visit again and again.
